Canoa Ranch Golf Club
Played On 06/01/2017Nice Course
Clubhouse/restaurant fire last December keeps the starter and cashier in a trailer near the cart area. Main building near practice green area due to open in July. But this doesn't stop the course from being an interesting and enjoyable place to play. Course is in decent shape, greens are in good condition. You can see some potential areas of stress in the fairways from summer heat, but overall, this is a nice course and well worth the summer conditions pricing in the Tucson area. Rough is really not a problem on errant shots. Not thick at all. Only real complaint is the sand in the bunkers is not typical sand. It is coarse, rough, and very firm. Play out of bunkers like you would hitt wedges off tight lies approaching the green. Can't really blast out of these bunkers as one may like. All in all, a nice day on the links.

Played On 11/18/2015Nice and affordable Scottsdale course
First time playing the course. Cart path only due to recent Fall overseeding was only an occasional hassle causing us to play a little slower, but overall, not too slow at all. Greens in great condition, but a little slower than what we are used to. Fairways also in great shape. Challenging course with plenty of water hazards to deal with. Pin placements were often very challenging. Bunkers a little thin in some spots, but playable. For a 36 hole course open to the public, it is a very affordable option and approaches resort quality in the heart of Scottsdale high end golf resort complexes.

Course was recommended by local golf school staff. Overall condition was good, no ugly spots or greens/fairways needing attention. Nice location in Carmel Valley. Mountains all around. Some of the fairways are rather narrow and tricky, and there are plenty of trees to work around (or through, if you miss a fairway). Relatively flat course, easily walkable. Overall good experience at a very reasonable price. Only blemish on our experience was that the bunkers we hit into, around greens or off of fairways, were mostly hardpan under an inch or two of semi-soft sand. Hard to hit out of these with any distance control.

First time playing this very good course. Pretty tough for me (15-handicap). Plenty of well-placed bunkers to make you think about almost every shot's placement. Greens were generally large, but with some tricky undulations. Fairways and greens both in excellent condition. Picturesque course with great facilities and courteous staff. Marshalls on the course kept pace of play reasonable, and I was in a slow group that had to be asked a couple of times to speed things up a bit on the front 9.
Verrado Golf Club - Founders Course
Played On 05/14/2014Nice course, great views, worth the drive
2nd time playing this course. Played last fall after summer monsoon rains had course in pristine condition. With little rain since, course played more like a typical dry desert course. Fairways are green, but hard, and you get lots of extra roll. Greens are transitioning to summer condition, and in good shape. No complaints. Course marshall kept pace of play going, and his gentle prodding of our group to keep the pace up were appreciated. Food at the course restaurant was excellent.
Aberdeen Country Club - Highlands/Meadows
Played On 8/30/2013Excellent course in great condition (August 2013)
Course was in wonderful condition...greens, fairways, rough, tees all pristine. Plenty of water to challenge all skill levels, but not too much to make things too tough. Great golf value for the price for golfers of any skill level.
Kino Springs Golf Course
Played On 05/17/2013Different and fun course!
First few and last few holes are pretty "normal" and lie in a nice picturesque valley area. But those middle holes really give this course tons of character and are a challenge for any golfer. Plenty of uphill, downhill, and sidehill shots, with a few blind shots added into the mix. Course is located in an isolated but beautiful area just outside of Nogales. Well worth the trip from Tucson or Green Valley. Greens fees are wonderfully inexpensive, yet the course is well maintained, though bunker sand really isn't "classic" sand as one would expect...it's a bit hard, but playable. Overall, great course and worth the drive. We played two other courses in Green Valley on this trip, and Kino Springs was our favorite.

Excellent and very busy golf course. Tees, fairways, and greens all in great condition. No complaints whatsoever. Will play again when we return for future Green Valley golf vacations.

Very nice course. Not an easy course, but not too difficult. Course is in good shape. No real ugly spots or stressed grass areas.
