Interesting layout

Several novel holes, so a good test. Some of the reviews here are a bit harsh... i agree the course and facilities are pretty tired in places, but the course itself is quite interesting, hilly and some amazing views over the Chilterns. Admittedly the greens are a bit patchy in places, but didnt give me any problems personally. The bunkers I saw were all pretty standard, one of the reviews below is catastrophising. I probably wouldnt pay £25 to play here, as theres other courses at that price around... but at £15-20 you're in the right ball park if your focus is on the golf, rather than the 'newness' of everything. I actually found the members to be exceptionally friendly and helpful, I had several nice chats and guidance etc. The signs to the next hole arent fool proof, so you need to consult the map on the score card, and there are one or two longer than usual walks to the next hole, but I just enjoyed the countryside, exercise and mature trees... its a nice looking course with some interesting holes. I will play here again.

Lovely course

I play the Three Locks regularly. The first 6 are up and down a large hill, generally nice and wide so fairly forgiving, with a couple of fun holes involving long pitches over a pool or off a cliff etc (the 2nd and 6th). Just as you start to huff a little from the hill walking youll find the 7th onwards is in flat and very handsome parkland, maintained very well. The fairways are typically quite wide and theres several dog legs, a stream and lakes through some of the holes meaning this can be both a forgiving course, or a tough one - depending on how ambitious you are. The views of the local hills are very pleasant. My only complaint is the the 18th is about a 150yd walk from the hole of the 17th, which can be a struggle not to skip it if your legs are spent. Other than that, theres some nice water fowl and rabbits around. Overall, well worth giving this course ago to see if it makes it onto your regular rotation. I write this review knowing it will make my life harder to get decent tee times, but whoever runs this course deserves a glowing review.
