Pasfield Park Golf Course
Played On 10/22/2021Pasfield Municipal Golf
I first played this course as a 14YO over 50 years ago. Some changes have occurred, of course. But, it is mostly the same course. Built across the valley of a good-sized creek, the course is frequently a thoroughfare of local wildlife. There are deer and fox, fish, ducks, geese and weasel. Songbirds are common. The squirrels fear the hawks and owls and the golfers fear the trees and rough.
Though not so lengthy, this course requires the golfer to place nearly every shot to make par. Creating unusual ambiance, the nearby Carillon is professionally played frequently. Walk or ride. But, do bring your fairway woods, wedges and your putter and enjoy a convenient, inexpensive and fun 9-hole round of golf - two times around.
Eagles Bluff Golf Course
Played On 06/25/2020This is a wonderful "Hideaway" Golf Course!
Love this Golf Course! Located on the West bluff of the Mississippi River in Clarksville, Missouri, there are many elevation changes throughout the 18 hole course. Topographic relief from top to bottom is well in excess of 100'. The panoramic views to the south and east are stupendous and on a clear day, the golfer can see downriver over 20 miles.
The course is interesting, well kept, fun to negotiate and plenty lengthy with several difficulties to manage. Many holes have water hazards and turns that require well-placed shot-making to score par. The flavor is rustic and holes are often bounded in forested areas. The rough is plenty rough. So, one must pay attention to stay in the fairway. Greens are smooth, bunkered and trapped and large enough to offer some very lengthy putting. Take a cart, unless you are simply looking for a very physically challenging walk.
Cost to play and rent a cart is very, very reasonable. Enjoy this Course.
The clubhouse is very adequate and the staff are very nice. This year, 2020, a weather pattern of frequent and heavy rains in the Springtime coupled with protective behaviors associated with COVID19 has made course maintenance into a very serious effort. So, give the staff a break and some tips with compliments. They are doing the very best that they can.
I found the Course this Spring, as golfing in Illinois was prevented for several months by COVID19. I will return to play many times into the foreseeable future.
