Arizona National Golf Club
Played On 02/13/2014A desert classic must play
this was one of our favorite Tucson Courses that fell into disrepair over the last couple of years. It is back to its former outstanding condition. Very scenic, 360 degree view for miles on some holes.
Play the right tees for your hdcp. this course is fair but difficult if you do not play conservatively.
Red Tail Golf Club
Played On 9/30/2013great design
Well maintained, enough tees to handle multiple handicap levels. Great hole variety.
Shaker Hills Country Club
Played On 7/22/2013Challenging course in great condition
Had played this course many times years ago. Under new management/ownership and it shows. Well manicured, first rate clubhouse. Good choices for tees, pick the right one for your handicap. Length is not the primary need, accuracy and good green reading skills will make a difference
Kettle Brook Golf Club
Played On 4/17/2013Too early in the season to give a fair evaluation
Course is very wet, no carts on about 5 holes. Greens are in good shape, should be better once things dry out, IF they cut a bit shorter and roll. Nice layout, worth trying. We have played here in past years and will again.
Try to play once a week usually Sat. Or Sun. afternoon throughout the season. Played a couple weeks ago when we had that 70* day.The course is usually the same every time except when there is a lot of rain then it gets pretty soggy. Biggest thing is the time frame it can be super slow on weekends and we have had rounds of 5 to 5-1/2 hrs on many occasions. A lot has to do with the people who play from the back tees and do not belong there. They need to bring back the rangers to keep play moving. Have sworn off the course on many occasion but keep coming back still the best value around for a great course.
