Having not played this course for several years I found the course to be in fabulous condition. Tees, fairways and greens were immaculate and the green keepers should feel proud of their achievement. The layout is challenging and the rough is severe to make finding an errant ball impossible, just as you should expect at a top class course. The only downside was the pace of play (4 hours 20 minutes) on a midweek afternoon. Visit for the fabulous course just make sure you leave plenty of time and enjoy the scenic beauty of Northumberland at its best.

As always Whitley Bay proved to be a tough test with driving accuracy key on lots of holes. The tee boxes and fairways were in excellent condition but was surprised to find every green had been top dressed and so all played slow and uneven making scoring difficult. The pace of play was a little slow despite lots of excellent signage around the course encouraging players to maintain their pace. Changes to the course since I last played here have made several holes play a little fairer with less chance of being penalised for a less than perfect drive. The pro shop was well stocked and the pro and green keeping staff were very courteous engaging with players and giving way promptly on fairways to allow groups to play through with little delay. Overall a good course and well worth a visit. The greens could have been better but maintenance has to happen and was a minor grumble.

Interesting layout with lots of variety. Plenty of short but challenging par 4’s and the short par 5 16th requires accuracy. Overall great course, good pace of play and excellent value for money. Also has a really well stocked pro shop for anyone needing any equipment or clothing. I would definitely play here again.

Nice course in really good condition.
Fairways are generous and semi rough quite forgiving making for an enjoyable round.
Greens were a little slow but it had been a wet week. Greens were in great condition and all ran very true.
Overall a good track and great value for money.

quite short but well thought out and a great use of the natural features to keep it interesting yet gives you a chance to shoot a low score. The scenery was great and the course condition was really good. Greens were consistent, quite slow, but it is early in the season and they will undoubtedly speed up by the summer. For the price this is really worth a visit and the locals and staff could not have been friendlier. I would thoroughly recommend this course.
