River Run Golf Course
Played On 09/22/2018Fall Saturday
We scheduled at late afternoon tee time on a Saturday in September. Fall rate was $30 for 18 with a cart. Beautiful course! It was quite soggy because there had been a lot of rain. That's the only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating and that isn't the courses fault. They didn't pair anyone up which was fine with us. Lot's of 2 somes. Fun course, fast greens and a great rate.
Drugan's Castle Mound
Played On 09/21/2018Last Time
I hadn't played Drugan's for about 3 years but it was always a favorite of mine. We played on a Friday morning in September. The course was in rough shape, mainly the greens. No Fall rates, no golfnow deals. $46 is over priced for the shape it was in. Also we got stuck behind a 5 some of older guys that were walking. They finally let us through on 8. There was a single behind us that kept running up on our tail. Back 9 there was a 4 some in carts that were holding up the whole course. No ranger, no beverage cart! They spent the whole back 9 looking for balls. It was so slow that the 5 old guys walking caught up to us. I won't be going back.

Played a Monday afternoon thinking it wouldn’t be too crowded and we were right. Nobody behind us for 5 holes. Just a mile off the strip in Osage and you felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. No houses/condos which was nice. Course was tight in spots but fair. Forward tees were a perfect advantage for my wife. Fairways and tees were perfect. There were some greens that were rough but most were fine. They were aerating number 10 green when we were playing it. Looked like it was mostly dead. Tough starting hole with a 200 carry over water then blind shot to the green with a pond in front. I would like to play that one over. Don’t know if they allow walkers but I wouldn’t advise it!

We've been to the Minocqua area many times and decided to try a different golf course. This course will make you play every club in your bag. Some short holes, some long. Some flat, some you might be standing on your head. No sand, some water. Really enjoyed the layout. There were some really tough pins on the day we played but we'll definitely be back.

Things didn't start out very well. I was told the starter would call us when it was our time. Another couple had the same tee time as us but joined up with another couple. Then we were told that a group had to turn from the back to the front but they were 20 minutes away. The starter got upset with the pro and left. Finally we just got up and teed off. After teeing off a single came up and said he was joining us. He didn't even have his clubs out of his car yet. Very disorganized! Once we got going the golf was fine. Not in great shape, especially the tee boxes. Sand traps were very inconsistent. Lots of wind on the back 9 near the bay. Just an ok experience.

We played here on a Friday morning in January. Quite cold in the morning but considering we are from Wisconsin it wasn't too bad. The starter gave us a brief run down of rules and we were off. Tough course. I was the only 1 of our group that broke 100. Typical Florida course with lots of sand and water. For January it was in good shape. The greens were tough but rolled well. We struggled with the deep sand traps but they were in good shape. $2 tap beer in the bar when we got done. Really a good experience.

I chose this course because it is a par 70 and fairly short from the red tees. Our group included our 2 wives, 1 who is a beginner and 1 who shoots in the mid 50's. We had a beautiful day. Played in just a bit over 4 hours. Typical Florida course with a lot of sand and water. Most of the water was parallel to the fairway. Not a lot of holes where you have to carry. The course was in good shape. I was a little worried when we started that there was 4 senior women in front of us but the each had their own cart and moved right along. It was pretty easy for me but very enjoyable.
Skyline Golf Course
Played On 09/29/2017Aerated
I gave low scores only because of the aeration. The back 9 was virtually unplayable. The greens were aerated the day before. We had a hot deal for $10. Glad I didn't pay more. Normally this is one of my favorite courses. Would have been nice to know ahead of time. I won't hesitate to go back.
Breezy Point Resort - Deacon's Lodge
Played On 09/06/2017Minnesota Trip
We were staying at Breezy Point Resort so we decided to splurge and play here. Price varies on what time you play. We paid $80 for a tee time after 2pm. The course was beautiful. 5 sets of tees so you can play anywhere from 7000 yds down to 4500 from the reds. I played the gold tees. I can see where it would really be tough from the black/blue tees. Lots of crooked lies and large undulating greens. Wide fairways but if you miss it's in the woods or the tall grass. It's advertised as the only Public Arnold Palmer design in the US so had to play it once. My only complaint was the pace of play. The starter told us that there was a 5-some in front of us but they were keeping a good pace. Well, the front 9 was fine but the back was terrible! With just the 2 of us we played a different course on Tuesday in 3:17 and on Deacon's it took us 4:35. I don't expect to pay that kind of money and get stuck behind 5 people. They were doing a lot of drinking and spending time looking for balls! That was the only negative. The course wasn't busy so if we could have played through we would have been fine.
Crosswoods Golf Course - Sunset/Sunrise
Played On 09/05/2017Minnesota Trip
Got a tip from some people we met to play this course. All tee times after 1:00pm were $30 for 18 with a cart so it was a great deal. We teed off at 1:30 and were done by 5 so the pace was really good. They were just starting to aerate the fairways but it wasn't an issue. Pretty typical northwoods course. Nice layout. Fairly open with 4-5 sets of tees to choose from. I will definitely head back here if we are in the area again. No beverage cart but it was a Tuesday in September. They did have a bar and coolers to use so we did that.
Breezy Point Resort - Traditional Golf Course
Played On 09/02/2017Breezy Point Stay
We stayed in a timeshare at Breezy Point so we played here the first day. Got a hot deal on golf now. I don't think I would pay full price to play here. Par 68 so it good for my wife to play. Front 9 is pretty open and relatively short. Back is longer and very tight. Greens were a little slower than I'm used to but the course was in good shape. The resort has an all inclusive option so there were a lot of people drinking as part of the package. We caught up to a couple of 5 somes towards the end otherwise the pace of play was great.
Beachwood Golf Club
Played On 01/20/2017Nice course
We had a great day to play Beachwood. Perfect weather. The course was in pretty good shape considering it was January and all the hurricane damage they had in the fall. The only complain was they should have paired people up a little. We let a 2-some through and then there was 2 singles and another 2 behind us. It would be more efficient if they were paired up but I liked the course and pace of play was good.
Wild Wing Plantation - Avocet Course
Played On 01/19/2017Beautiful Property
This was by far the best course I played my week in Myrtle Beach. Reminded me of a desert course. The rough was brown but the tees, fairways and greens were bright green. It was fairly soft and played very long. I played the white tees but probably should have moved up 1. Tough greens to read and lots of undulation. Played on a Thursday afternoon and the course was basically empty.
Carolina Shores Golf & Country Club

In Myrtle Beach for the 1st time. I was looking for an inexpensive place to play while checking out the area. I got a Hot Deal tee time so I didn't pay much. The person in the pro shop was very nice and even gave me a complimentary course guide. The course was in pretty rough shape. I enjoyed the lay out and could see a lot of potential. Lots of trees down from the hurricane last fall. Cart paths were extremely rough. Very little grass on the fairways. The greens were basically spray painted dirt, especially the front nine. I told my wife I was glad we didn't pay more than $20.

Looking for an inexpensive place to play on our Florida trip. Nice course. Par 69 so not real long. We played from the back tees at 6200 yds. It was pretty busy since it was a holiday. We started at 2:00 and just barely got done. A couple groups ahead of us were playing multiple balls and another group spent 15 minutes taking pictures of an alligator. No ranger, no beverage cart but a good experience overall.

We camp in the LaCosse area and usually golf in Wisconsin but someone told me to try Cedar Valley. I wasn't disappointed! Very nice course that was fun to play. Nice variety of holes. The leaves were starting to fall so it was hard to find balls from time to time but that is to be expected. The greens were fast and true. I won't hesitate to come back.

Love this course! I've played here many times. The fairways did have some dead spots but overall the course was in great shape. Greens were fabulous. Soft, yet fast. You will play every club in your bag. We got the twilight rate even though we played at 12:30.
Jackrabbit Run Golf Course
Played On 09/06/2016Denver Trip
My wife and I stopped here on the way home from Denver. As we arrived I noticed they were aerating the greens. We were told they did the front 9 so we could play the back twice if we wanted to. After completing the 1st 9 we were told we could play the front if we wanted to even though the greens would be a little bumpy. The course was pretty wide open and in great shape. The greens were soft but pretty fast. It was a little tough for my wife as there was quite a bit of carry between the tee boxes and the fairway plus they force you to carry rough to get on to the green. The fairway ends and you've got 30 yards of rough. I enjoyed it.
Lake Wisconsin Country Club
Played On 08/19/2016Makes you play all of your clubs
Played late Friday morning. Very good pace of play. 3:10 for 2 of us with a cart. This is a relatively short course but it makes you use your whole bag. I played the Blue tees and my Dad (82 years old) played the reds. The course was in great shape even though there was quite a bit of rain over night into the morning. The greens were fast but soft. Many of the traps were washed out or full of water but not much they could have done about that since it didn't stop raining until about an hour before we played. Very easy course to walk if you would want to do that.
Your feedback is important to us. Thank you for sharing your 5-star experience. We look forward to seeing you again at the course soon! Thanks for choosing Lake Wisconsin Country Club.
