Southern Oaks Golf Club
Played On 07/10/2023Great Shape but slow.
I really enjoy this course. The grass was in fantastic shape except for several areas where the carts enter back onto the path. Tee boxes were soft and well placed. The green were tricky but fair once you figured them out. I know it is summer, but we had to skip two holes because they were running the sprinklers in the fairways and around the greens. Fairways were in spectacular shape, so I can see that the watering is working. The beverage servers were always around and they were both very friendly and quick but it would be nice to have some more food options around lunch. There was plenty of water on the course, but this would be a tough and dangerous walk in the heat. The cart are super comfortable, but could use an upgrade. The cart paths around a few of the holes like 9 and 18 are in terrible disrepair and almost impassible. Those who had their own carts out there were simply driving on the grass to avoid them. I will definitely be back out hopefully in the fall when it is not so hot.
Grand Oaks Golf Club
Played On 08/31/2021Fun Little Course That Needs Just A Little More TLC.
I played 27 holes at Grand Oaks yesterday and I will definitely be back again! The course is pretty wide open, there were hardly any people out, and I zipped through 27 in 3 hours and 15 minutes. 5 par 3's and 5 par 5's makes for a pretty fun round of golf. The staff were super friendly and the carts were in great shape. The practice range leaves a lot to be desired, but the putting and chipping area was in great shape. They do have a full bar and great selection of beverages, however there was no one on the course selling. There are plenty of outhouses and water jugs throughout the course, which you will need because some holes provide little to no shade. This would be a very easy walk, but on a hot day, you would be baking for sure. A lot of the bridges have no safety railing and the cart path could use a lot of work on some of the holes. The parking lot is absolutely horrible and is in serious need of repair. I recommend this course to any golfer of any skill level.
Hillcrest Golf & Country Club
Played On 05/27/2021What a beauty!
I played this course with my father who had never played there because for the longest time it was a country club. The course is extremely challenging and it was a chilly, wet morning which made it even more difficult. It is an old course so it has very mature trees but as long as you stay in the fairway, you can really get to the greens. There was quite a bit of wind that day and it definitely affects your ball flight on almost every single hole. The pro shop staff were extremely courteous and informative. The carts were in fantastic condition and even though we couldn’t get to the range because of the rain, the short game area and putting clock were in great condition. I will definitely play here again. $25 for Veterans, First Responders, and Active-Duty on M-W-F !!!
Iron Horse Golf Course
Played On 02/11/2019Nice greens.
The greens are the best part of this course. Cart paths are really bad in a lot of spots. Some fairway areas are just blocked off because they need serious repair. Some green side areas are rocky and really under grown. Tee boxes are either ripped to shreds or a giant mound with no level footing. Staff is quite nice and the bar and grill is roomy and comfy with decent priced beer. I got a sweet deal on my last round, but anything over $35 would be asking much for the shape it is in.
Awesome! We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Grand Oaks Golf Club.
