Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park
Played On 04/03/2020First time playing here.. last time..
I truly hate be so negative, but the only good thing about this round was the gentleman I was paired with. We waited on every hole, and of course, no marshal to be found. The greens were terrible. The course layout is boring, and missing a shot put you on hardpan. There really was nothing good I can say about this course.

It's not a bad course and the people friendly however it's pretty boring it's in mediocre shape, and if you're serious golfer all the retirees will drive you a little crazy
The Ranches Golf Club

I really would like to play this course when the weather is better, and the course in better shape. Unfortunately, I have to report the greens are immature, the tee boxes uneven, and much on-course construction.
The Club at Sunrise
Played On 09/20/2019The good the bad and the ugly
The good, the course is in decent shape, greens rolling about a 10.
The bad. No on course drinking water, no marshals.
The ugly. Even though I paid for a cart, and even though the couple I was paired with were extremely slow, my walking was seen as the problem. I'm not slow. I not only kept up with all three cart riders, I pushed the group ahead.
Worse yet, when I called back thinking I would play again, after being told the course had openings, the story changed when I asked about walking. Suddenly the attendant was saying thigs that I interpreted as discouraging me from walking. (I PAID for a cart the first time, just don't like to ride..) After hanging up, the manager called me, unsolicited, and tried to figure out what my problem was. When I asked him why he discouraged walking, he got aggressive and uncooperative. NOT what I expect in a customer service position. While I might play this course again, this experience has left a really bad memory, and I will probably avoid it, as there are many other courses that are happy to take my money.
Mesquite Golf Course
Played On 08/03/2019Challenging
Mesquite is a really good golf course. The greens are fast, and challenging, the staff friendly, even the marshals! A few of the fairways have bare spots, but mostly it's a good, challenging course.

The pace was glacial, the greens were terrible. Marshals were non-existant, and when they were available, were worthless. Even the fairways were basically dirt. I'd avoid this track.
Old at Firewheel Golf Park
Played On 07/24/2019hard to believe
hard to believe that so many people want to play this course that the pace would be as slow as it was considering the course conditions. But that was the case, as two hours into the front I was obliged skip four holes and play the back. The greens are horrendous the grounds crew oblivious and in general not a place to which I will return.

One of the worst experiences I've had in many years of playing golf in Vegas. It wasn't just that there were no marshals, but that the players felt entitled to play at whatever pace they desired. It was bad enough playing on dirt fairways, but when I made the turn and got behind a SIX-SOME, after 2 hours and 5 holes, I just gave up. I made the turn even, but couldn't stay focused with the raucous party going on three groups ahead. I will NEVER set foot on this course again.
Grand Elk Golf Course
Played On 08/29/2017The good, the bad, the ugly..
Good:
Nice fairways, nice range, nice clubhouse.
Bad:
Poorly maintained sand traps, slow greens,
Ugly:
No starter, No marshals, totally random pace, staff that doesn't listen.
Specifically: After being assured the group I was supposed to play with had checked in and on the tee at my allotted time, I found one elderly gentleman who told me he didn't have a tee time and was just going to 'play a couple of holes.' After I returned to the clubhouse, and invited another gentlemen to join me, went out as a twosome. The pace was terrible on the front, waited on every hole as the elderly gentleman's couple of holes turned out to be the whole front!
On making the turn, we see a foursome 'appear' in front of us. Called the pro shop to ask the status, and next thing, a person from the pro shop drives by to the other group and asks them to let us play through. Turns out it was a group that was several holes in front of us on the front, though you could scarcely tell as we were so far out of position, and they were playing a reasonable pace. I felt pretty terrible the rest of the round because the pro shop had harassed a foursome just because I was asked about pace. They didn't handle that well. Then the icing on top, after a warm day, and driving an hour to the course, I was hoping to clean up. Whereupon I was 'informed' that the locker room facilities were for members only. So, hot, sweaty, and unhappy I left. I won't be back.
