Gambler Ridge Golf Club
Played On 06/19/2020Pace of play was brutal
The course was is pretty good shape, tee boxes very good, fairways not bad, greens very good but hard and had quite a few run-offs with approaches and chips. The issue was 8 minute tee times and not enough carts. I get the fact that they are trying to make up lost revenue but we had a 1:32 tee time and didn't begin until just before 2pm. We waited on every hole, many times behind two other groups. Finally finished at 6:55 pm.
I have played this course perhaps 6 times in the past and it is not long, generous fairways and should take 3:45 to play leisurely.
To be honest I would hesitate to play here again if they continue the 8 minute tee times.
Union League National Golf Club - Sherman/Grant
Played On 10/12/2016The name says it all
The course was in very good condition, including tee boxes, fairways and greens. Some bunkers did have areas of standing water. The greens were quite fast and very undulated making for many difficult reads.
Greens have formidable protection from the abundance of traps. Lots of waste area as well. The one issue was pace of play. A foursome two groups ahead of us slowed our twosome to be forced to wait at least five minutes at each tee. Very frustrating, and plays havoc with any sense of rhythm. As a result I played only 9 holes, leaving a bit disappointed. I would like to give it another chance, hoping for better pace and perhaps a ranger to monitor this problem
The Senator Course at Shula's Golf Club
Played On 04/24/2015Great value for well maintained course
I spend two weeks in Key Largo each April and we were willing to drive 75 minutes north to try a few of the Miami area courses. Shula's course was in very good shape for late April. Greens excellent and fairways good. The staff was very pleasant, the post round lunch good as well. Course is not too difficult, the back nine has much more water in play. Definite replay next year.
Miami Springs Golf & Country Club
Played On 04/20/2015Fun course in great condition.
Took the ride from Key Largo to play here with a great rate from GolfNow. Frankly we were astounded by how nice this municipal course was maintained. With no one in front of or behind us, the pace of play was quick but unhurried. A ranger stopped us to ask how we liked the course and after we remarked at the great condition he smiled and said thanks, and by the way, if you wanted to play a few more holes, go ahead. Very enjoyable round and a definite replay next trip.
Cream Ridge Golf Club
Played On 06/29/2014A relatively easy course in good shape.
The course is not difficult, lots of straight par 4's and some short 4's as well. A fair amount of water and some nice par 3's. The rough was penal, longish and extremely thick. Fairways and greens in very good shape. Staff friendly, and the restaurant food was very good. You can score well here if you keep your drive in the short grass. Certainly worth the reasonable grren fee.
