Nice course - good shape

I've played Bent Tree a few times, course always seems to be in decent shape.

Fairways were in nice shape and so was the rough for the winter season. Greens were a bit hard but rolled true. Traps were raked but hard, they could really use some fresh sand. Pace of play was slow, it took us about 4.75 hours to play 18. Never saw a ranger but did see the cart gal a few times. On one hole we had 3 groups on the tee at one time. It did speed up on the back nine. Still we had to wait on just about every hole.

Overall course was in nice shape and worth the $60 to play it. We will likey be back again as I enjoy this course. There doing a nice job keeping the course in shape. The course is fairly priced and a good value. Enjoy your round!

Great value - nice course

Was able to hit the range before the round, nice grassy area. Practice green was fine as well. Starter was present and got us off on time. Tee boxes were nice and defined. Fairways were nice, grassy and the ball set up fine. It was a bit wet so ball checked up on drives but that was expected as we have had several rainy days. Rough areas were not as green and full as the fairways. There were some patchy areas where sand was visible, overall not bad considering it is the "rough". Greens were in nice shape. They did check up well and seemed to be well maintained. They also rolled pretty true Sand traps could use some work. Most traps around the greens were in decent shape, raked and not hard. I would call it Florida sand...not beachy sand. Some of the fairway traps had weeds and you could see that they had sprayed them. We never saw a ranger on the course or beverage cart. You can grab something between the 9th and 10th hole. We played 18 in about 4:15 hours. Overall I thought the course was in nice shape and for $50 a good value.

Assume there are gators in every pond!

I read the prior reviews and did not play this course for years because of the reported conditions and pace of play. Since the reviews were better we tried it. Pleasant surprise, they brought a cart to our car when we parked, nice range facility for warm up. Two separate practice greens, one for chipping, one for putting. Got off on time on a Saturday. Played 18 in 4 hours....not bad. It's winter in Florida so the rough areas were a bit brown, fairways we're green and nice. Greens were in good shape, rolled nice and good pace. Traps were a bit hard, not as much loose sand as I would like but still OK. Not sure that we ever saw a Ranger, but pace of play was fine. This is Florida people, expect gators in every pond and this course has many. Saw some nut with a ball retriever walk right down to the water edge, then drop everything as a gator was 3ft away lurking in the water. I laughed but I think that guy needed an equipment change! This isn't Michigan people....they make new balls every day. I thought the course was nice and challenging, 6100 from the white tees. Maybe a bit pricey but we will be back. Course is in better shape and worth playing.

Nice course, good value for the money

I only have this course a 4 star because the traps were in poor condition. I suspect it's a COVID thing, but I think they need some attention. This is a great course in the Sarasota area. Nice layout, an open enough to hit your driver on most holes. Course wasn't crowded and pace of play was fine. Greens and fairways in nice shape. Will play here again.

Easy layout, course is in great shape

Have played here several times. Course was in excellent shape. Staff is always friendly. Layout is fairly simple, mostly par 3's with a few par 4's mixed in. Greens in great shape, good speed and rolled true. We were a foursome and easily played in 3 hours.

Walkable course

Great course to walk....you don't find many of those anymore. Course was in great shape. You won't need your driver much, maybe two holes. Still, challenging enough and if you have a partner who needs a little more room in the fairway this will work out nice. Staff was friendly and the starter was helpful. Great, nice and easy course. Will be back!
