International Golf Club - Oaks Course
Played On 07/08/2014Great course
I've always wanted to play The International as I've heard great things so when I saw the 50% off deal I jumped on it and was not disappointed. The parking lot set up is a bit confusing, but that's really my only complaint as the course was in great shape and everyone was very nice and accommodating. Great driving range and practice facility as well!
Mill Creek Golf Club - The Mill Course
Played On 7/7/2013Tale of two 9's
First of all, this course is about an hour north of Austin so keep that in mind when booking a tee time. The course itself was in decent shape, but the layout is very confusing, with as much as 0.5 miles in between holes and a lot of skipping around to different areas. The front nine looks like it was cobbled together on a rather small piece of land and it is not in great shape, lots of bare spots.
The back nine however is very nice and in great shape. There are some excellent elevation changes which is rare for the area. I really enjoyed the back nine, but likely won't be back to Mill Creek due to the number of other options that are closer to Austin and in better shape for the money.
ShadowGlen Golf Club
Played On 7/4/2013Good, not great
Course was in fine shape, especially considering the recent drought we have had in the area. A few "ground under repair" areas and some burnt out rough further out, but all in for $50 for 18 and a cart Shadow Glen is a pretty good deal.
