Green Meadows Golf Course
Played On 10/11/2015Course Is Better Than It Has Ever Been!
Have been playing this course usually around three times a year for about 30 years. I believe it is in as good of shape now than ever before. Greens smooth and relatively fast. Fairways had been airrated about a week ago. Something you hardly ever see. Roughs were fair-not to high. Starter at the desk was great to deal with. Could not have been more helpful. Even a foursome that started ahead of us let us play threw after three holes.Weather great. Course in excellent shape. Management - keep up the good work!
Blackmoor Golf Club
Played On 08/26/2015Well maintained course with friendly staff.
Drove 1-1/2 hours to play this course on recommendation of a friend. Really enjoyed this layout. We travel and try to play a different course every week. Best course we played this year. The fairways were in great shape except for a few wet spots that couldn't be helped. We've played many courses and these greens at Blackmoor might be the best around. The contour of the greens and their unique designs made them not only difficult but fun to play. Pace of play was great. Great price. A must play. You won't be disappointed!
The Quarry Golf Club
Played On 08/28/2014Different and challenging
Played The Quarry on Aug. 28. About an 1-1/2 drive from home but well worth the drive. The staff, from the person who took are money to the starter, were extremely helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the course because it was different than any other course I've played. It had everything. Water, sand , and trees were abundant. Some holes were hidden so it was hard to pick the right club off the tee. The GPS system on the carts was the best I've ever seen. The carts would shut down if you went where your not suppose to be. All you had to do was back up and you were fine. This course is a definite play. Better than any I've played in eastern Ohio and western Pa.
Practice balls, bottled water, and a great course all for $35.00.
Turkana Golf Course
Played On 07/10/2014"Pay Attention" to the walking symbol on Golf Now!
Thought we (2 seniors) were getting 18 holes and cart for $14.00 each including fees. When we got to the course found out this was a walking price(what senior walks this course!). Even though it was my fault for not paying attention to the symbols when booking (I had never seen this walking symbol before) I felt Golf Now could have given some advanced notice of this. They charged us $24.00 for the cart. We are seniors and it ended up costing us more to play through Golf Now than it would of if we just paid the regular fees at the course. Pace of play was excellent. Course in years past had more sand. Removed the sand because they didn't want to take care of it. Overall condition of course was good.
Bedford Trails Golf Course
Played On 06/07/2014Very Friendly Staff. Course enjoyable to play.
Played on a Saturday afternoon. Staff ask my friend and I if we wanted to we could play the back nine first. They knew what they were doing. We never waited or were pushed the whole round. Nice to deal with a course that has the golfer in mind.
Course was in very good condition. Greens were fast and fairways in great shape. This course has some easy holes and some hard holes. Many tree lined fairways. The first hole needs a little more character. Other than that I'd rate this course as a definite play. Nice course for a great price!
Lenape Heights Golf Course
Played On 05/26/2014Course well conditioned. Beautiful new hotel.
This was my first time playing Lenape Heights. It was one of those days you look forward to all winter. 80 degrees and beautiful sunshine. We drove 1 hour from home and it was well worth it. The course was in excellent condition. Some of greens looked like they had some disease earlier in the season but were growing in well and were very fast. The roughs were very fair. My friend and I play many different courses and the par 3 12th hole and the par 5 13th hole were two of the nicest holes in the area. This is not a long course but many of the holes are challenging. This course is a definite play!
Stonecrest Golf Course
Played On 05/03/2014Course in nice shape considering poor weather conditions.
Played in and out of rainstorms. For as much rain as we've had course remained in pretty good shape. Staff very friendly. Will definitely play again.
Birdsfoot Golf Club
Played On 9/24/2013Great course on a great day.
Pace was a little slow. Course was in great shape. Greens a little rough. How can you beat playing a course like this for only $15.00. What a great way to spend a beautiful fall day!
Pheasant Ridge Golf Club
Played On 7/20/2013Good course.
Greens were large and contoured and in excellent condition. Cart paths were pretty steep on a couple holes. It would have been scary if they were wet. Ball sits up nicely in the fairways. Roughs were fair for amateur golfers. Pace of play was excellent.
Butler National Golf Club
Played On 9/06/2012Probably an elite course 50 years ago. To many side hill lies.
I enjoy playing this course once a year. Very tough course for the amateur golfer. This course is from out of the past. Excellent greens. Bunkers not taken care of. I can see how it got the name "Oakmont of the North"!
Aubrey's Dubbs Dred Golf Course
Played On 1/25/2012Hardest back nine I've ever played.
Front nine pretty easy for the average golfer. Flat with nice size fairways. I've been playing golf for 50 years and the back nine is the toughest nine holes of golf anywhere. Tight fairways, hills, trees, and small greens. Great test for a par shooting golfer. It makes the average golfer pull his hair out. One good thing about the back nine is that we found about a dozen golf balls looking for the balls we hit out.
