The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort
Played On 03/15/2015Beautiful holes into marsh
There are 4 holes on the back nine that go into the marsh and these are gorgeous. Greens everywhere were excellent. It was a little soggy all over when I played. Take bug repellent as tiny sand flies are like gnats but they bite. Worth the money though. Very nice.
The Club at River Forest
Played On 10/26/2014Very nice club
The conditions of this course are excellent almost all the time. Fairways are great, traps are fair, Bermuda rough long enough to cause trouble. Bent greens are temperamental. When they are good they are terrific; heat can be an issue of course but the keeper will let them get a little fuzzy to compensate. Always very soft. Some really beautiful holes. A Canongate winner.
Morgan Dairy Golf Club
Played On 10/24/2014Beautiful greens and oak trees
In all of my 50 years of playing golf I cannot remember nicer Bermuda greens than these. They were soft enough to accept a divot but extremely smooth. I have never putted better and I owe most of it to the condition of the greens. That's the highlight. Carts were OK, clubhouse oldish and well used. Except for several stands of stately old oak trees it's pretty wide open. Low fees make this very much a good value.
Lake View at Callaway Gardens Resort
Played On 07/25/2014Nice test of golf
Wide fairways are one of the features I enjoyed. Grass was mowed everywhere and the course was green all over. Great shape. I played from the white tees and found that driver was not the best play off the tees. The par 4s are not that long so a hybrid may be your best play off the tee. Short par 4s probably contribute to the lower course rating. Holes around the lake are very pretty and #10 is a good hole over the lake. My undoing was #17, a narrow tee shot with trouble left and right. Enjoyed my round very much.
