Not sure if this is a fair review given the weather we have been having, but if the course is that wet, then charging €35 is a bit steep. The greens though were excellent and in super condition given the time of year. I spent a lot of time putting as there weren’t many on the course.
I played the course many years ago and loved it. I liked the layout and the course was in great condition.
Cleaning facilities in good working order.

Staff very welcoming. Fairways just needed a cutting (was a Wednesday). Too many doglegs and blind tee shots. Excellent greens. Great amenities.

Excellent all round. Guy at pro shop very friendly. Course in fantastic condition; tee boxes, fairways, greens, everywhere was very well maintained. Nice layout, except for 13th, a completely blind tee shot. Cleaning area in good working order and very clean locker room. Didn’t go to bar/ restaurant.

Arrived early for a 17:20 tee time on a pleasant Thursday evening. Staff in the pro shop were very friendly and let me out early. I played on my own with few on the course, so no issue with pace of play. Layout is forgiving, in that it is relatively easy to find any stray ball, however, you can be punished behind the many trees that line the fairways. Fairways and greens were in great condition and well maintained. A bit of crisscrossing of fairways on the back 9 which could be an issue if the course was busy - just need to keep your eyes (and ears) open. Cleaning station was all in good working order. Didn’t go into the clubhouse, but will the next time - I will be back to play this course again. I really did enjoy the evening.

Really nice day for golf. Course in pretty good shape for time of year. Fairly soft off the fairway, so lost a few balls; they were just off, but plugged and very difficult to find. Impressed with the greens. Fairways were generally very good and they do seem to be doing a bit of work in the course.
Negatives;
Met 4-5 people in clubhouse, including pro shop, and none of them were wearing masks.
Given the course layout, there is a lot of opportunity to skip holes. We had people cut in front of us three times; including a very slow single who waited 5 minutes for the green to clear for his second shot into a par 5. Three shots later and he still wasn’t on the green. But I guess that is not a fault of the course/club.

Overall, I really enjoyed playing the course for the time of year. Will definitely play again in the summer if I get a chance. Would recommend a visit, but check the layout beforehand as some shots are blind. You’ll enjoy.

Big improvements made in the last few years with a lot of trees removed opening up tees and greens.
Tee boxes, fairways and green well maintained and in great condition.
Well worth a visit.

Played on the June Bank Holiday Monday at 4:50pm. I played as a single. While there were other groups on the course I was able to tee off at exactly my tee-time; so very well run facility.
The fairways are in great shape. Greens pretty good too. One or two that are sheltered by trees seem to be a bit patchy, but nothing serious; but I dropped one start for that.
Some very challenging holes, (10 & 12 with a long par 3 in the middle at 11), but on other holes the fairways are generous and the first cut of rough is forgiving; but the rough is rough and if you are in there, you deserve the challenge.
Practice facilities are great; driving range, chipping area and practice green. Everything needed to warm up.
This is my third time playing here and will definitely be back.

Booked for 7:36AM in the hope of getting a free run at it. A fourball teed off just ahead of me and never allowed me through; they knew on the first tee that I was a single, and that there was nobody behind me. Their etiquette on the tee box was terrible and took them ages to tee off on every hole. Ended up skipping two holes to pass them out.
Course is in great shape; tee boxes, fairways and greens. Have cut a few trees since the last time I played which has improved things.
I like the course. It's a nice challenge.

As usual, the course was in great condition. Well maintained tee, fairways and greens. Nice layout with some challenging holes and a few very nice par 3s. Weather was great, which was a bonus this time of year. Always enjoy playing here.

Played on a GolfNow deal on a Wednesday. Played on my own. Guy in pro shop very friendly and let me out a bit early to avoid a 3-ball. So no problem with pace of play. Course in great condition. A lot of work going on; cutting/dressing a couple of fairways, strimming, etc. Not too intrusive though.
Played off the whites. Some very interesting holes. Short tricky par 4s, blind tee shots, 4 very long par 4s (450yrds) and a couple of lovely par 3s. Water comes into place a bit; some narrow fairways and a lot of trees; three massive ones in the middle of the 10th fairway??? No real bad rough though - which was good.
Good amenities. Very clean and tidy. Everything in working order.
I really enjoyed the challenge and will be back.

Played early Sunday (7am) morning as a single. Clubhouse was open. Course in great condition: tee boxes, fairways, greens, etc. all in great shape A little bit more care with pitch marks would really help the condition of otherwise fantastic greens. I like the layout with a couple of great par 3s and approaches.
Clean area in great shape and everything working. Well worth a visit.

A beautiful morning for golf. Played for €13, at 7:30am, on my own, so no problem with value or pace. Staff were very friendly and gave me directions, etc. Greens had been cut that morning and the ground staff were hard at work on the fairways, but didn’t interfere with my round at all. Fairways look like they are recovering from a long tough winter (patchy in spots), but generally in OK condition. Greens were in great condition though. Nice layout, hole length, etc. No major rough, so suitable for all levels. A couple of nice holes; especially par 5, 8th (prior experience an advantage) and a few (not too difficult) dog-legs. Got confused around the 16th; seemed to be a couple of par 3 holes, but not sure which was in play - a bit more signage maybe.
Excellent practice facilities and the cleaning area was clean and functioning (not always the case in every course). Didn’t use the bar, restaurant or shower facilities, but they all looked excellent and modern.
I really enjoyed the round. Would definitely recommend it. If I am back in Limerick during the summer I definitely wouldn’t mind paying full price for another round.

Second time playing here. This time I booked a GolfNow hot-deal so great value. Was out at the end of a seniors open day so pace was slowish - but I was in no hurry (was playing as a single so couldn’t complain). Very friendly staff and bar area was clean. Also nice food on offer. Course was in fantastic shape given the weather we have had. Fairways well cut. Greens in great nick and running true. I like the layout - great variety of holes, directions, pin positions, etc. Cleaning area in good working order.
All round excellent course. Will play it again.

Played at 08:40 on a golfnow deal, so no issues with pace of play. Staff that I met were very friendly and knowledgeable. Course in great condition. Excellent layout. Loved the use of the water features on many hoes. Tee boxes, fairways and greens in excellent condition. Wide fairways, and rough wasn’t too bad; escapable. Was a little long for me though, but big hitters will have a field day.
Great facilities; cleaning area, locker room, showers, etc. Didn’t use bar or restaurant.

The round only cost me €10, so excellent value. I played on a Tuesday at 06:45 before the green-keepers got out, so the greens were not in great shape. But with the dry weather and bird damage, I could see that they were struggling to keep them in good condition anyway. But I could see this being an excellent course if a couple of things were sorted out.
I called to the clubhouse the previous evening to collect a card and the person I met was very friendly, and accommodating of my early start the next day.
I love some of the views form the course. Some of the tee boxes need a bit of TLC. Fairways were in good shape, but a lot of slopes/hills: my ankles were in bits after the round. In general the course was forgiving with not too much rough, but enough of a challenge with tree lined fairways and blind tee shots.
The cleaning facilities had no air and with the trolly covered in grass, I was not happy: simple thing to fix.
But overall I enjoyed the course and will play it again if I am in the Cavan area.

I played this course as a ‘hot deal’ at noon on a bitter cold late November Friday, and I think I was the only one on the course for a time. Thus the “excellent” for value for money and pace of play. The guy in the office was very friendly, and talked me through the first few holes. He also gave me a stroke-saver, which was handy.
The greens were in fantastic condition, and were cut that day. They were solid, true and dry. Most of the fairways were wet and soggy, but with the recent rain they were about as good as you could expect. I plugged a lot of balls on the fairway or around the greens, but found most of them. I found 15 & 17 particulary difficult as the tee shots are blind so impossible to know even where to start looking for the ball. But overall I didn’t really mind.
My favorite hole on the day was 13, a short downhill par. But overall I thought it was a well layed out course.
I will definitely play this course again in the summertime when it is dryer. Based on the condition of the greens in this wet weather, I expect them to be super in the Summer. But well worth a visit any time.

Played on GolfNow deal just after 7am so no issue with pace. Other than that it is still good value for money. Greens were being cut but the ones not cut were still true and in great condition. Nice layout; tricky par threes and a few blind tee shots. Fairways and tee boxes well maintained. Rough not too bad; long in just a couple of places which is grand. Bunker sand soft and fine.
Didn't use practice facilities or clubhouse this time, but have previously; all good.
Trolly/club leaning facilities in good working other.
I really like this course, its always in great shape and I don't mind making the 35mile trip to play here.

Played as a single at 7:30AM on a Sunday: first out, so pace was not a problem. Beautiful morning. Course in fantastic condition. All greens cut that morning; they were fast and consistent. Fairways in excellent shape. Rough wasn't too punishing.
Played this course before so I knew the layout. Some challenging blind tee shots and nice par 3s. Water hazards come into play on a few holes. Pretty good layout overall.
When I was finished the cleaning area was well maintained with plenty of air pressure. Lady at the bar was very nice and friendly.
Played on a GolfNow hot deal for €15 so great value.

Can't fault this course. Tee boxes immaculate, fairways impeccable (if a bit tight in places) and greens were fantastic. Rough not too severe and while I spent a bit of time in there, I didn't lose any ball and always made good contact. Really liked the layout of the course. Cost€15 on a GolfNow deal, but still fantastic value at normal rates. Played Mount Worseley earlier in the week and it cost me €45, so I'd put Kilkenny ahead of it on that basis. Started at 8:20 as a single on Good Friday so had a clear run of it.
Clubhouse is excellent and locker room and toilets very clean and tidy.
Would love to play it again in the Summer.
Recommend this course to anyone.
