Heritage Hill Golf Club
Played On 08/19/2018Good Shape for Late Summer
Terrific course layout...fairways and tee boxes are in good shape. Greens were a bit beat up - not the course's issue...negligence by players. Make a pitch mark, fix two more...
Will be back!
Sandhill Crane Golf Club - Championship Golf Course
Played On 01/22/2017Great Value
Extremely professional staff - welcoming and supportive.
Course is in terrific shape, especially greens.
Nevel Meade Golf Club
Played On 11/3/2015Nevel Meade remains in Good Condition
Paid $36 to play on a Sunday afternoon - pace was good, finished just under 4 hours. Fairways, greens and bunkers are in terrific shape. Tee boxes are a bit beat-up from the late season. Generous off of the tee, some small greens requiring accurate approaches.
Covered Bridge Golf Club
Played On 11/11/2014Last Visit to Covered Bridge
Very average course that usually demands a premium price for the name. Played 18 for $35 in early November. Terrific starters - very accommodating and friendly. That's where the customer focus ended. Check in at the Pro Shop was less than cordial, but the biggest issue was the grounds crew. On several holes, greens were being sprayed in front of our group - not a problem, we waited for them to clear - but it really would've been helpful for the flags to have been replaced after the treatment. On other holes the maintenance team drove or worked through our group (chipping) and began grass cutting and some leaf removal while guests were putting. The course was relatively empty - plenty of gaps between groups to allow this to not interfere with play. Won't be back.
Henry County Country Club
Played On 09/06/2014Great Course in Terrific Conditions
Henry County continues to improve. The course conditions were fantastic - well kept greens, new sand in bunkers, fairways and consistency across all cuts of rough. Worth the short drive from Louisville.
Heritage Hill Golf Club
Played On 04/06/2014Slow Play Ruined My Experience
Played early Spring - assured during registration that all groups were "right on time"....The course stopped calling for scheduled groups to come to the tee shortly following. Our foursome teed off nearly thirty minutes after scheduled time. The round lasted over five hours. Painful...especially considering that the course location is a thirty to forty minute drive from most of Louisville. Too long of a day for golf.
Still like the layout, greens were in good shape as were tee boxes. Anticipate the course really being in great shape once the zoysia greens up.
Any attention at all from a starter or course ranger might've salvaged the experience. Won't be back to Heritage Hill any time soon.
Oldham County Country Club
Played On 7/21/2013Course is in Great Shape
Terrific conditions for mid-Summer. OCCC is in the best shape that it has ever been. Tee boxes and fairways were pristine, greens rolled true - evidence of quite a bit of new attention and maintenance.
Work in progress
Front nine has evidence of improvements underway to paths and bunkers. Back nine had many areas also in repair state. The greens and tee boxes were terrible - looks as if the course had lost the greens and were fighting to get something to last through the Summer. They tee boxes showed no effort.
Paid $19 for a round - just "ok" for that price.
Glenmary Country Club
Played On 6/14/2013"OK" Course for the price
Glenmary is two very different 9 hole courses. The front has some great holes, taking advantage of elevation changes and natural conditions. The back feels like a neighborhood course with homes lining each tee, fairway and green.
Greens and fairways were in ok shape, cart paths are awful....concrete has degraded in many areas, needed lots of attention. Same comment for many of the bunkers. Raked rocks and dirt. Tee boxes were inconsistent.
$25 on a Friday afternoon is a good deal but wouldn't offer much more than that.
Eagle Creek Golf Course
Played On 5/27/2013Maintenance makes the difference - great course!
Poor conditions had plagued this venue for many years - not the case any longer, the ownership has made great progress in green, bunker and fairway conditions. Challenging layout that demands use of every club that you brought.
#1 and 18 are somewhat disappointing starting and finishing holes but the rest of the course is a great layout.
Champions Pointe Golf Club
Played On 11/9/2012Great Course, Glacial Pace
Champions Pointe is always in terrific condition. The layout, variety of holes and staff available are top-notch. The only drawback was the pace of play. A course Ranger would have saved the day, moving along groups who were spending 10+ minutes each hole looking for errant shots, plumb-bobbing 3 footers for triple bogey and had no concept of ready golf. Many groups did not finish. Disappointing for such a great track.
Polo Fields Golf & Country Club, The
Played On 10/28/2012Nice layout, straight-forward course to score well on
Played on October 28th - they were aerating the greens on the 29th. Fairways (bent) are in great shape, greens were very quick. Bunkers could use some attention - not raked at all for the weekend play. Easy course to score well - short par 3's and 5's.
Indian Springs Golf Club
Played On 9/29/2012Evidence of improvements - shot maker's course
Good course - many challenging holes, especially off of the tee. The course is seeing the impact of a big inflow of improvement $'s...bunkers, green complexes. Cart paths still are pretty rough. Can't wait to see the end product next year....one of Louisville's toughest finishing holes.
Heritage Hill Golf Club
Played On 8/31/2012One of the best in the Louisville area, although some signs of deterioration
Played a late August round, expecting recent cooler weather to have the course rebounding from a dry Summer. Fairways and teeboxes were in usual good condition - the greens were beat up. Rampant damage caused by golfers not-repairing ball marks and inconsistent speed. Bunkers and collars also were very spotty - needing to be raked, levelled or mowed.
Would hope that this does not indicate that Heritage Hills is struggling - too nice of a layout to let maintenance go!
Doe Valley Golf Club
Played On 8/18/2012Great layout with improving conditions
This course is recovering well from many seasons of mis-management. The new owners are focused on making the course live up to its full potential. Fantastic layout, greens in great shape with quite of bit of "work in process" improvements evident. Excellent value.
Glen Oaks Country Club
Played On 6/23/2012Nice Layout, Beaten Up by Summer Temperatures
Nice neighborhood layout that demands all 14 clubs be put in play. Greens and tees were in good shape, fairways and rough were terrible - spotty, bare patches and evident disease. Other local courses at lower rates are in much better shape!
