My golf buddy and I were very disappointed on the condition of the course overall. It appeared as though the only area of the golf course that was taken care of during the "Shelter in Place" Coronavirus lockdown was the greens. This place is in bad shape. A number of the sand traps were overrun with weeds, the rough is 4 to 6 inches long and there are weeds everywhere. Aside from that, we paid for a "Hot Deal" on Golfnow, which included a cart, but when we got to the pro shop to check in we were told we couldn't have a cart due to Covid 19 and the attendant said he couldn't do anything about it because we paid Golfnow directly for our green fees. So we ended up playing this place for $48, including Golfnow's increased convenience fee of $3,49 and walked. This place is not worth the fee we paid even if the cart was included. This will be the last time I play this course. There are way more places to play than Carlton Oaks in San Diego County for far less and in much better condition. Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me!!! Never again!!!

Considering I didn't play as well as I would have liked to, the course was in great shape. The greens were a little slower than the practice greens. The sand traps seemed a little inconsistent from one to another. The rough was a fair length and the tee boxes were in decent shape throughout the course. I truly like playing the north course over the south course due to the north being more challenging than the south. All in all it was a beautiful day to be on the course. I definitely recommend the Admiral Baker courses to local and visiting golfers? Cheers!!!

The course is definitely getting better. The fairways are in the best shape they've been in 20 years. The greens have improved immensely, but are still inconsistent from one green to another. Some roll faster that others, but in much better condition than they've been in a long time. The margins could stand a lot of attention, but that is in an upward trend also. Overall, I think I may consider putting Eastlake back into my rotation of courses, but may reconsider if ownership continues to raise the green fees.

This was one of my most disappointing days of golf in recent history. My recollection of Carlton Oaks was a course with a great layout , nice greens and a well taken care of facilities. Not so anymore. The course was mostly dried out, not maintained very well and the greens were inconsistent and in poor condition in most cases. The pace of play was horrendous, to the point that we drove off the course after 17 because we waited all day at every tee box for a minimum of 10 minutes. After nearly 5 hours, we were exasperated couldn’t take it anymore. Unfortunately this will be the last time I play here. Thanks for the memories!!!

The course was well set up, but the greens were dried out and super fast. Otherwise a nice day at the course. The on course service was excellent and always close by for anything we needed. Overall, a nice experience.

We had a fantastic round. The weather was perfect and the golf course was in excellent condition.

I play at Eastlake on a regular basis and have noticed improvements to the grounds keeping effort, but the sand traps are atrocious. They all require more sand and need some TLC. The fairways have improved immensely and the greens are improving. My one complaint about the greens is they are inconsistent from one green to another and could all use rolling on a more consistent basis. Since new ownership has taken over I’ve notice some improvements, but for Eastlake to make it back to be being a gem in the Southbay it’s going to take more effort and dedication to our golf community.

Eastlake Country Club is improving from this time last year. They've cleaned up the water hazards and removed the storage systems they had on the course for the last year. The fairways are improving, less brown spots and dirt on them. The greens are better on hole #4 and #15. Starting to get back to what the course looked like 15 to 20 years ago. Still need to add sand to the traps throughout the course. Hopefully the new ownership will invest additional funds into the property to make it a top choice in the county. I'm definitely encouraged by the improvements.

I typically play this course when I want to practice and only have time for 9 holes. The course is in decent shape and the greens seem to roll pretty good for this time of year. Usually the pace of play is slow because of a lot of beginners on the course, but if you go in knowing it may be a little slow you'll get thru 9 holes in 2 hours or less. The staff is relatively new and not as friendly as past staff members. All in all the course and facilities serve their purpose for a quick practice round and the price is right!!!

I am what I would consider to be a regular at Eastlake and have played this course for several years. The course is in the best shape I've seen or played it in nearly 10 years. I have one big issue with this course, the sand traps. They are amongst the worse traps I've seen anywhere in San Diego County, bar none. That said , I can see some improvement, but a quick fix would be to add somemore sand to all of them immediately. I like the course for the price and the staff is great. Keep it going by improving the traps and I think you'll have a gem of a course for everyone to enjoy!!!

It would have been nice for someone to mention the fairways were airated before we tee'd off, but the bunkers really need some TLC! Added sand would be nice at the least. Otherwise the course is on the mend from all the rain we had in January and February.
