Very good for a brand new course.

For the course only been open a couple weeks, it is in very good condition from tee to green. Only a few thin spots in the fairways, but overall nice consistent grass. Greens are firm but nice a quick and very smooth for new greens. If you miss a putt it's on you. They were rolling right around 11 in the morning. The back nine seems to be a little more mature in terms of turf quality, but no complaints at all. The layout is just ok. Typical Gordon Lewis residential design.... I posted photo of scorecard because there is little to no information anywhere online. Wish there was a set of tees around 6,800 yards, but i guess a combo set would be way to go next time. Guys i played with played the reds so i joined them there. Had to hit a lot of less than driver off the tee because of the very short part 4's from that particular tee. Several 90 degree doglegs, making it play even shorter (hit driver, 9 iron in the 508 yard second hole). Nice set of par 3's with both of them on the front playing around 210 yards. Not many trees so expect to deal with the wind. As others have mentioned, no amenities so pack a cooler with beverages and snacks. Course was easy to find by following directions provided on the Golfnow booking page and in the confirmation email. Friendly staff. Definitely worth $60 even without facilities... will play again.

Good value for in season

Booked as a single for a 2:30pm tee time. Arrived about an hour early and checked in, and was offered opportunity to go out immediately with another single. Went straight to first tee and joined up with a very nice gentleman. Third time playing the course, but had not played it in several months. Course was generally in very good condition from tee to green. Fairways were nice and tight, easy to generate plenty of spin. Greens were somewhat firm, but had no problem holding any of the greens. Greens were a little bumpy and a tad on the slow side... you could visibly see that the last aerification never fully healed. Overall, greens were better than average for the area and most putts held their line. Pace of play was right at 4 hours so no complaints. Will return in the near future.

Nice variety and fun course. Not sure it's worth $80 though.

First time playing here. Booked a last minute tee time (got a hot deal for $48) and was paired up with a couple very nice gentlemen. Staff in golf shop and starter were friendly and helpful. Practice area is just ok, but range balls are included so can't complain. Course was in decent condition tee to green, no bad lies but a little soft in some areas, despite the lack of rain for the last couple weeks. Greens were good. Rolled about 10 and held their lines. Bunkers were also well-maintained, but was surprised to see rakes being used. Played the Blue-Red nines, and was a nice variety of holes. Not overly long, but some narrow fairways and enough of a challenge to make it fun. A few reachable par 5's and a fun drivable par 4. Par 3's were also challenging with varied distances. Overall, an enjoyable course, but not sure it's $80+ nice. Happy with what I paid, but probably will wait until the offseason to return.

Nice course, good value

Booked a day in advance. After driving an hour to the course and arriving a little more than an hour before my tee time, was notified the course was cart path only and the practice range was closed. Was paired with a nice couple and had an enjoyable day nonetheless. Course is nice, good variety of holes, and was a fair challenge. Greens rolled about 10.5-11 and were true. Played the Marsh-Creek nines... will go back another time to hopefully play the Oak course.

Just okay...

It's your average Florida semi-private course. Flat, most holes are straight-away and fairly short. There are a couple 90 degree dogleg holes that can be a little confusing (and dangerous if your house is there). Greens were slow, but rolled fairly true. Just really had to get used to the speed. Overall the course conditions were good, and would be fine for an average player.

The good, the bad, and the ugly...

Booked a last minute tee time ($25 recent aerification fees), arrived 20 minutes before tee time and stepped onto range to warm up, and immediately heard my name called to the starters shack.... 15 minutes before my tee time, so had no chance to warm up. First time playing here so not a big deal. Starter was very polite and informative. Played the Black tees which play to about 7,000 yards. THE GOOD: Great course layout. Nice mix of straightforward holes, slight doglegs, and nice par 3's. Visually intimidating on some holes, but not really a difficult course. THE BAD: GAS golf carts with no GPS in the carts. A higher-end club should at least have battery-powered carts, and GPS is pretty much standard these days, so seems odd. A few partially blind shots and hidden hazards. First time here, so again, not too big of a deal but something to consider playing here the first time. Guessing the natural areas are protected, which is why they are so overgrown to the point of blocking landing areas and greens on the back nine. Greens were punched in the last week or so, so they were quite bumpy. Was an automatic 2 putt kinda day. THE UGLY: The majority of the tees and fairways were both scalped and burnt out. Had to play preferred lies in the fairways, and often had to move it a couple club lengths just to find some grass. Honestly considered just playing 9 holes and calling it a day, but really wanted to see the whole golf course. Barely worth the $25 to play here. Hopefully it's better every other week of the year, and I was just unlucky.

Lots of positives...

Booked a somewhat last minute tee time by myself on a Tuesday at noon since I was traveling in the area. Staff is very friendly and helpful, check-in was a breeze. Had about 45 minutes to warm-up so utilized the exceptional practice facility. Range is perfect setup, large tee, quality turf, and hitting slightly uphill gives a great visual to the target greens. Nice short game area and two practice putting greens, one by either course's first tee. Booked the Commander course, and unfortunately was not notified by GolfNow that greens had been aerified.... probably within 2 weeks by the looks of them. Not a huge deal, but stiff would have been nice to know. Starter was very nice in explaining the course and conditions, and did warn me that I would be behind 3 threesomes. I said fine and teed off on time, playing the red tees (one up from the tips, since it was my first time playing the course). First 5 holes are spectacular visually, with large, flowing fairways, sweeping bunkers and just great framing done by Mr. Palmer. 6-9 were good holes as well, with some of the largest greens I've ever seen on a golf course (specifically #8). Conditions were very good tee to green, but the greens were bumpy and fairly slow. The front 9 took 2 hours and 20 minutes to play because of the groups ahead, which is ridiculous with everyone in single carts. Decided to check with the starter to see if Piper course was more open, and he allowed me to go to front 9 there for smooth sailing. Not really impressed with the layout of newly-opened Piper course. Fairly generic and several hidden hazards. Greens were firm and fast, but seemed like a downgrade compared to the Commander. Played the front in just over an hour and called it day. All in all, a fun, fairly challenging course to play, will have to return to experience the back 9 of the Commander. Thank you to the staff for their help.

Nice new course

Played here for the first time on a fairly windy day. First of all, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the practice facility is nice. Turf on the range tee is excellent to hit off of. Course is pretty straight-forward and easy to navigate with no real hidden hazards or blind shots. GPS is good not great... seemed like several key targets (bunkers, forced carries) were not mapped for some reason. Fairways are generous and well-conditioned. Greens were FIRM but putted well. Not sure if its because of the type of grass or just being new, but I got some really squirrelly bounces on some approach and pitch shots to where the ball would bounce dead right or left. Was impossible to hold a couple of the greens downwind. I played a combination of the tips and the red tees, as a couple of the holes were just silly from the tips (255 yard par 3 with a green 15 yards deep?). All in all, it was challenging test and I hit every club in the bag. Will play again in the future, and it's a good value for the quality of course.

Nice layout, great conditions, awesome value

Booked a last minute afternoon tee time as a single. Not very busy, so played in around 2.5 hours. Nice practice facility, course conditions were excellent. Greens were true and good speed. Layout is nice and fun but nothing memorable. Fairways are generous and green complexes are fair, miss in the wrong spots and you will be penalized. All in all, a great value and I will be coming back!

Horrible conditions. Much better options nearby.

Course was in terrible condition. Tees were mostly weeds, fairways were patchy at best, and the greens were incredibly slow (the golf shop had 10.5 on the stimp posted... no way they were over 8). There is seemingly little or no maintenance of the bunkers and the rough. Never saw a ranger or beverage cart during a 87 degree afternoon. It's a real shame, because it is a great layout, but the management seems to have cut the maintenance budget. There are many better options in Broward for much less money.
