terrible conditions; has officially made the “do not play again” list

Played a morning round today, this course is essentially unplayable. There is no fairway, I guess the grass is slightly less dead in the middle of the course where the fairway should be, I guess. Pretty much like hitting off concrete no matter where you are. Bunkers are an odd like hard mud, not sure how that happened as it hasn’t even rained here in a while. Several years ago this place was above average, it had been getting progressively worse but apparently recently has just fallen off a cliff. I’ve played dozens of courses around here and this hs now been granted the distinction of only the second course to make my “do not play again” list.

Also, $75 is criminal, literally makes no sense.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us Feedback on your experience. We are sorry we didn’t meet your expectations during your visit. As it relates to turf conditions in “winter” months of January & February, the off color yellow brown conditions are related to multiple days of heavy frost we experienced in late January. During Winter, turf color does not rush back to green and lush due to night time temps staying below 60 degrees for most of Jan / Feb / and often into March. The Greens can take on a purple, yellow, or brown hue during cold snaps and we treat them weekly with liquid fertilizer to bring them back to a greener tint. The dry winter conditions (with very limited rainfall) do create firm and fast conditions and tighter fairways. Overall, in the marketplace we have priced ourselves accordingly and offer a very good value during the high demand months. Our Starters and Rangers do their best to keep players on pace but in certain circumstances players can get unruly and somewhat vulgar at times. Finally, this summer we plan to renovate the entire golf course, new greens, new turfgrass, rebuilt bunkers, and new laser-leveled tee boxes with new turfgrass. In the Fall, we will reopen and have an entirely new fresh look. Thank you for your time and we hope you will consider visiting again.

disappointing

So I was looking forward to playing here cause I had heard good things. What a disappointment. The unfortunate thing is the course has potential, layout is good, not your typical FL course with houses crowding the fairway and limited trees, there were actually some interesting holes. But the conditions were just awful. Greens were actually quite good, but remainder of the course grossly neglected. Tee boxes and fairways were horrendous. One tee box had zero grass, it was literally teeing off from sand. Fairways were patchy at best and for the most part were like hitting off sandy concrete. What ever happened to fairway sprinkles? Add this place to the growing list of places I don’t plan to play again due to terrible conditions.

potential is there but needs more attention to course conditions

Interesting design and layout. Definitely not the typical Fl course, way more trees, not much water. Don’t feel like houses are crammed everywhere on the course which is nice. Interesting design with some fun holes. Conditions not good at all though. Greens pretty good. Fairways, tee boxes, and bunkers not so much. Tee boxes were hit or miss, but fairway was quite patchy. Course has potential but needs more effort put forth on keeping the conditions up to par. This was early march too so I doubt it gets much better. I don’t plan to play here again due to the conditions, as least not for quite some time.

Pretty Nice Course; Very friendly Staff

This is a pretty nice course, but I didn't love it. Tee boxes and fairways were in pretty good condition, greens were in fair condition. Water on a few holes, but really only in play on 2 or 3. Lots of bunkers, both fairway and greenside, although most of the fairway bunkers aren't really in play on most holes. 6,350 yards from the gold tees (2nd furthest tee box back), although it plays longer as many holes have the green on a higher elevation then the approach shot. The difficulty in the course is certainly the elevation changes and undulations. I didn't really love the course layout, my primary gripe is the undulations and uneven turf on the fairways. This lead to many if not most of my fairway shots having the ball significantly above or below your feet (or on a front/back slope), which made approach shots difficult. Maybe its because I am a novice golfer who doesn't get out to play that often, and maybe more experienced/better players enjoy this, but I personally do not like it as I felt like I was never rewarded after a good tee shot, and even the drives I thought I hit great often ended up with second shots on 20-30 degree slopes which made the approaches difficult.

One other note, which is minor but worth noting, the cart paths are awful! It doesn't affect the course/game play per se, but it sure makes for a bumpy ride!

On a positive note, the staff was very friendly. I was able to get out as a solo, which was great. Pace of play was average. Club house amenities were pretty nice for a public course. Weather was beautiful and its in a quite location not too far out from the city. Overall, I would recommend this course to a friend, but it wouldn't be my first choice to replay.

Highly Recommend

I highly recommend this course. I played the course in early Sept 2016, and it was in excellent condition. Tee boxes and greens were well kept, and the fairways were exceptional. The course was not overly challenging, but not easy either. Bunkers in play on every whole, both fairway and around the greens. Not much water, but it is in play on a few holes. Fairways on the wider end, lots of sharp dog legs. Thick rough around the greens.

I suspect one of the reasons that the course is in such great condition is that its in the middle of no where, and so my guess is it doesn't get a ton of traffic. I played on a nice day in early Sept, arrived a little before noon, jumped right on as a single and didn't have anyone behind me the entire round (and this was on a nice later summer day). The lack of crowd is definitely a positive in my book. Also, the price I paid for the round was just ridiculous. $10 for greens fees and a cart, and the course was in a condition that I would say is easily on par with many country clubs/ private courses. Steal of a deal.

To sum it up, I was very impressed with this course. Its worth a bit of a drive, and I look forward to playing it again soon.

nice course, challenging

I played in late Dec, was surprised how green the course was for that time of year, its obviously well maintained. When I played it was super wet, but granted its been a rainy couple of weeks. I'm not a very experienced player, but I will say I found the course very challenging. Not a ton of bunkers, but water is in play nearly every hole, and tons of undulations particularly near the greens which makes approach shots very difficult. Fairly long course too, almost 7,000 from the black tees. Pace of place was slow the day I played, I had to wait nearly every shot. But overall, fun course and quite nice. I'll definitely play again but hope to play when its drier.
