Sierra Lakes Golf Club
Played On 09/03/2022Worth the Drive & Money!
Majestic, is the word that surfaces when looking back on this weekend’s (Labor Day) experience at Sierra Lakes GC. From the moment we turned onto Club House Dr, the utter lush greenery and beauty was abundant and it continued throughout the property.
Note: it was 108 deg Fahrenheit, yet the aforementioned beautiful conditions showcased all 18 holes. Leveled and planed tee boxes, rolling two-cut fairways (with tough yet playable rough) and immaculate multi-tiered greens,; continually left us commenting aloud as to just how impressive the presentation of this course was. A tip-of-the-hat to their ENTIRE maintenance crew, because I’m certain it takes an amazing crew to attain said feit.
The clubhouse and bar staff wasn’t overly welcoming, aside from the starter Lawrence. The food (Chicken Nachos) were delicious and the beer was nice and chilled, as was the entire clubhouse and bar: very much appreciated!
Overall, a delightful experience given I hadn’t been back in well over a decade! A true gem of a course in the IE and definitely worth the drive…and I’ll definitely not let another decade pass before I return. Thanks again Sierra Lakes Team!

Absolutely love this course layout. Not overwhelming long- even from the tips- yet a challenging layout, nonetheless. Course continues to be in great shape, particularly the consistent green speeds.
Azusa Greens Country Club
Played On 05/24/2019Vast Improvements & Tremendous Value
Hadn’t been here in years, and am so glad I took the gamble and returned as the course was much better than I remembered it being in years past. The fairways did have a few patches of dirt, but the tee boxes were nice. On the other hand, the greens were fantastic! Not overly fast, but true and in fabulous shape! Pro shop staff were great too as was the starter. Ended up being paired with a twosome whom plays there regularly, which truly made the experience that much better. Overall, a great lil gem all around.
Santa Anita Golf Course
Played On 03/09/2019Definitely worth it!
Was able to capitalize on a discounted rate and truly enjoyed my entire day out here. The Mountain View’s were amazing and the course was in very good shape, specifically the greens. Pro Shop staff are always great and accommodating.
Industry Hills Golf Club at Pacific Palms Resort - Eisenhower Course
Played On 03/26/2018Business as usual
Business as usual on the Ike: great playing conditions. Rough was much higher than usual, yet greens were just as fast as typically expected. Mega Monday makes for a slightly slower round, but never let that keep you away as the energy that plays has is well worth it!
Mountain Meadows Golf Course
Played On 05/30/2016Great staff & always a good course
Staff (both inside & outside) were great: friendly and courteous. E joyed our round, despite the obvious extra foursomes they squeezed in every hour. Course layout is challenging but fair and their greens are always fast (running about a 10 on stimp meter). Definitely worth a consideration, again, vastly due to the layout, greens and most of all, the staff!
Westridge Golf Club
Played On 03/22/2016Good shape
As usual, course is in good shape. Fairways and greens are nice, although their rough was higher that usual, which made it a lot tougher around the greens. Pro shop staff (Manager) was really friendly, yet not the case with the starter. Marshall was great too! Recomend playing this gem.
Black Gold Golf Club
Played On 09/26/2015Highly recommended
Initially, was a bit hesitant to play, given it had only been two weeks since the greens had been punched, but was pleasantly surprised to see how quickly they'd recovered. Fairways were nice and rough definitely lived up to its name. The entire facility, from practice range to the entire course was beautiful and lush. The course plays a lot harder then you'd think from what the scorecard depicts, but felt it was an honest test of ones skill.
Bali Hai Golf Club
Played On 07/09/2015Location, Location, Location....
Returned after almost a decade and quickly remembered why it's remained one of my Top 10 courses anywhere!
The entire staff from bag boys to starter, merchandise reps to bartender and marshals were outstanding; as to be expected from any high end course. Pace-of-place was a bit slow, but made the best of it.
Now for the important part: the course itself. Course played amazing! What you see is what you get, especially on these fast greens. Generous fairways add to the playability and encore risk-reward shots on various holes: especially on the par 5's. It can get a bit noisy on a few holes, but then again the course is flanked by both the airport and I15 fwy on either side respectively.
At 7K yards from the tips, Bali Hai will have more than enough bite for any player- even for bombers- which is why the Gold (Blue) at 6600 yards will have more than enough bite for most skilled players not trying to impress and/or pretend they can be on tour.
In conclusion, Bali Hai is a fabulous course and definitely worth the price tag...better yet if you find a discounted rate. Enjoy your round....
