Oak Hollow Golf Course
Played On 08/12/2023Great Course, Just Slow
The course is a great layout, it’s challenging and I enjoyed the course itself. Also, the snack bar at the return is great. The only detractor was the pace of play. It took us 5.5 hrs to complete 18 holes, all because of two groups ahead moving at a snails pace. Don’t expect the Rangers/marshals to do anything about it either. Yea, it was a weekend and expectantly busy, but I have a problem when a round takes that long; especially on a hot day. Otherwise a great course, just maybe avoid on the weekends/holidays.
Heather Hills Golf Course
Played On 08/22/2022Just Have Fun
First, the gentleman at the pro shop was extremely friendly and helpful. This is a short track, and the conditions are not the best. The bunkers are non existent, as they are all overgrown with grass; greens are patchy and bumpy (one actually has mushrooms popping up on it) so don’t expect putts to roll true. But for the price point, this is adequate. My son and I just took our time and had fun; playing mini games as we went along. If you come here not expecting to take it seriously, and just to share time out on the course, having fun playing some golf, then you will enjoy this course. Come out here expecting Sedgefield or Old Town, you’re not going to the right place. It’s not pretentious at all, and can provide a fun couple of hours out in the sun.

What more can I say. It was a beautiful day, and the course was in great shape for late Winter. Greens were all rolled out well and were running fast.
At the pro shop, check in was quick and easy; range was in great shape. Really appreciated having water bottles available at the start as I was walking. Pace slowed a little on the back nine, but still finished at right about four hours. Grill at the turn does a great job, gets your food to you quick and was a good value.
I’ve played here many times, and I haven’t been disappointed. Great course.
Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort
Played On 06/29/2020Outstanding Course
The only thing that I regret about this course is not coming to play sooner. The course conditions were great and the layout was extremely fun. The carts had everything you need from GPS in cart, ball/club washer, and smooth riding. The staff from the club house on were friendly and helpful. Your fee also pays for range balls, so for all that you get, it’s definitely worth the money. I’ll be playing here every time I come home to visit family; one of my new favorite courses. Challenging enough so that no matter what your skill level, you can have a great time.
Kempsville Greens Golf Course
Played On 04/29/2020Decent Course
The staff are great here, and kept things moving despite being very busy and with added precautions due to the ongoing pandemic. I’d rate this course higher, but there are a few detractors. First, there are multiple tee boxes that are bare dirt. Then, there are odd fences/nets put up throughout the course. I get wanting to block errant shots, but these seem unnecessary. The greens are okay, not smooth, but okay.
Otherwise, it’s short but has some challenging holes. Fairways were overall dry and well maintained, but all bunkers were paved down; many taken out all together and allowed to grow back. I’d play here again; for the price point it’s not bad.

They’re really putting in a lot of effort to make this course as good as it can be. The fairways are in good shape, and the greens are rehabbing nicely. I just wish other golfers would fix their divots and ball marks, it’ll keep getting better. And for a $9 twilight walking greens fee; you can’t beat this course fir value. Challenging as always and very fun.
Stumpy Lake Golf Course
Played On 03/09/2020Fun Course
Coming from where I live in Carolina, this course is flat; but it does add in some sharp doglegs, which adds a challenge. It’s very walkable, which I like, and if your tee shot wanders off the fairway, you won’t find yourself in too much trouble. The greens were well maintained and firm. Everyone I encountered here was friendly, and I would definitely come back here in the future.

By far my favorite course in Greensboro. Great layout, well taken care of grounds, and friendly staff make this a great track. The clubhouse has great food/drink options too.
Winding Creek Golf Club
Played On 04/08/2020Great Day
Busy day on this course, still finished in 4 hrs. Firm and smooth fairways, greens recently aerated but decent though bumpy. The layout is challenging as always and fun because of it. Had a great time and will come back.
The Challenge Golf Club
Played On 04/05/2020Fun Time
The name of the course is accurate, it is a challenge. Place your shoes smartly, you can do well. Errant shots are punished as there’s lots of thick brush/grass on either side, as well as heavily canted fairways.
The staff are friendly and helpful, the course is is good shape, and it is a beautiful course. Will play again when I have a chance.

Great layout that was fun and challenging. The pro shop and club house was great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would love to play in the summer when it’s drier than I winter. Definitely coming back.

Played On 12/15/2019Very Boggy Day
Yes, there was light to moderate rain for a day and a half prior. However, the condition this course was in with almost 24 dry hours was poor. Apparently, according to guys I paired up with, this happens a lot. This is unfortunate, because the layout was nice. Maybe after a month long dry spell, this course will be in better condition. My ball became plugged in the fairway and on the fringe multiple times, just to give example of how boggy the course was. Otherwise, it’s a nice track; allowing walkers would be another nice thing.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Emerald Lake Golf Club. We hope to see you again in the future.

For having rained all day the prior day, the course was fairly dry; definitely in good condition. The layout is great, and the pace of play was great. Pro shop staff was friendly and provided great course info before I started. I’m definitely coming back. My only critique is that there aren’t any ball wash stations on the course. Not a big deal, but it would be nice.

Played On 09/29/2019Fun Course/Great Value
The course is in okay condition, unfortunately many who play here don’t fix their divots nor their ball marks. This shows on many of the trees where there is heavy damage causing them not to roll true. I can’t fault the grounds crew on this because it’s us players who are responsible. I do like to layout, it makes for a fun day. Just watch out for the creek on 9/18; it has eaten a few of my errant shots. They have a great driving range, the grill is basic, but nice, and all of the staff here are friendly and helpful.
I really enjoy this course, for the cost, it’s a great way to spend a few hours outside. I just wish more of the players would take care of the course; it’s a great location and we’re just as responsible to take care of it.
Indian Valley Golf Course
Played On 09/28/2019Fun Course
Nice course and great value. There’s some greens that are being fixed, but most were in good condition. My only negative; maybe not turning the sprinklers on in the mid afternoon with players on the course. Otherwise, I’ll come back sometime, had fun.
Bur-Mil Park Golf Course
Played On 09/23/2019Average Par 3
This is an average Par 3. The greens could be a bit better, and the roughs are so thick you could easily lose a ball from a slightly off line shot. But, it’s a fun, relaxed course for an hour or two to work on your short game. Nice driving range, mostly mats though. Everyone who works here, that I’ve met, are friendly.
Jamestown Park Golf Course
Played On 09/23/2019Great Course
The only thing I can critique is that the pace of play can be slow. There aren’t rangers on the course, so groups can stack up. Otherwise, great conditions from tee to green. Greens are fast, so you have to play them carefully. Great people at the pro shop and the grill is affordable and has good food.
Thank you for rating us 5-stars. We would like to apologize for the slow pace of play. We will let our rangers to know to control the pace of play. Our team would be glad to know you thought the course conditions were great. Thank you for playing Jamestown Park Golf Course and we hope to see you soon!
