Looking to hold a tourney there and after a very unfriendly interaction ~2weeks ago with the pro, asking to get us on for a site visit and tourney talk, we just made a 630 am tee time on our own. Got there at the 6.
Totally dark in parking lot,not lit up area. Almost tripped over a curb sticking out. Pro shop was open.no welcome was told " hold I m not ready yet" he had to get his system up . Paid 54.00 green fee and 10 bucks for a small bucket. $64.00!! No cart yet, asked if we could get a taco n coffee,"not open yet" range was a dog track,hardly any grass. Tee d off and every hole I d say was 2/3 s ok rest had bare spots in the fairways.
We get to the back and most fairways are standing water from the sprinklers going off. Horrible. Lost interest by about 14 and limped in. It s about a $40-45 dollar course at best. Needless to say we won t be returning nor won t consider plum creek for any tourney.

We were looking at having a tournament there and possibly joining. I work at a large company in Round Rock Tx with a huge golf community. I explained this to the membership person and he made us a tee time for 842 on Sunday of the 4th. I have never seen such poor conditions on a supposed private course in my life. Most of the fairways had no to little grass. We had to move our ball several feet one way or the other to try and fund grass. There were clumps of unkempt wild grasses and weeds thru out the fairways and even around the greens. Around several greens we thick patches of dead cut grass,all dried out obviously it had been just sitting there from a past mowing. Even the cart path were cracked and uneven. This was embarrassing. We could not believe they let this go so bad. We made it to 12. It got worse and we left and went to the car.
I would under no circumstances recommend this dog track. I would never consider membership or bringing my tourney here,even if it was free. The memberships answer to me when he emailed me to follow up and I shared all the above..." maybe you should look at our more high end club, The Hills." I was flabbergasted.

Finally got to bring my tourney decision makers out. Last3 weeks packed with other tournamentside. Course was in ok shape,fairways always hard. However the nock on all 3 courses at Sunset City is pace of play. It was not packed but waited on every shot. WHERE IS A MARSHALL!! We turned and it got worse,1 hour and 12 minutes to play 10-12.We quit decided to go in an show my guests the rest of the course via a drive buy and saw the issue. On 14 there was a 3 some and there was no one in front of them fo3 holes. Last time we give these courses a shot. My company has a huge golf community, hold 2-3 tournaments every couple months. I plan 2 a year and this disappointment and wasye of $$ ant time loses any chance i' d hold it there or recommend it on our social media. Austin s golf scene is getting ridiculous with pace of play.Course management has no concern for a good golf experience.

Took my exec s out to show off the course on kingsland. I always call to check conditions. To "great shape." Not great but ok. What was disappointing was not being told that 2 of their really signature holes on the front the tough part 4 just before the usually beautiful over the water par 3 were now shortened to mediocre status due to them selling land for waterfront condos. I would really like to have known that before bringing my golfers there. It was lousy. This course is off our list to play.Really felt lied to by the staff.

As has been written over and over in these posts this place is a joke. I have been a member some 5 years and it has gotten so bad I have quit my membership. We had a 7:15 tee time,our usual or you get stuck with horrid slow play. At checking the counter guy is so slow the line of ppl waiting to play was all the way back thru the pro shop. As I stood with my 2 guests the low life's in front of us dressed in sneakers,hats backwards and gym shorts paid ~$22.00 less than my "member guest fees!" They both were ticked. I told em I don't buy their lunch. Off we went only to find at 715 they as usual had crammed in another couple tee times so #1 was lined up. The 4s9me in front of us, 2 young couples were giving the girls lessons!! No Marshall till I don't know when. A 2 hour 51 minute front 9. My guests left at the turn telling me "don t invite us here again." The conditions were worth about a $25.00 green fee.
That is it for me, can t spend another dime at either Avery or Tera, it has gone to the bottom. Terrible golf experience.
