Very hilly

This course would suit a mountain goat. Very steep in places and loose gravel/ shingle on paths potentially dangerous. Need to be fit. Better signage to next hole would be advantageous for new or infrequent players. (9 hole played off two tees for a full round). Fairway grass was cut a little on the long side making finding your ball difficult even after a good tee shot. Fallen leaves (lot of trees) didn’t help but that’s to be expected this time of year. On the plus side, greens were very good, course was interesting with lovely views. Staff and players were friendly. Could be better with a few tweaks. Remember to pack oxygen and climbing ropes on your first visit 😁

Nice, interesting course to play

Course in good condition for time of year with greens playing well. Day we played the weather was bad (wet and windy) so made the course more tricky to play especially being our first time. Members and staff friendly and helpful. Look forward to play again in better weather.

Good public course in the summer

Nice course to play when it’s dry. Well kept with interesting holes.
Shame the council want to close it to make it into open space for dog walkers!! Let’s see how well they look after it ( like they do with other nature walks around) and then becomes overgrown and finally ends up as a potential building development site.
Watch with interest folks.

Course in good condition for a public course.

Lovely day and enjoyed a nice bash about on a course in good condition. Haven’t played it for a while as it’s very boggy in the winter months.

Fairways badly maintained

Gave this course another try as the weather had improved and it had time to dry out. First hole seemed probable with really nice green. From then on it went down hill. It was like a second cut on the centre of the fairways and a very rough cut to the sides. The grass cuttings had been left where they fell and were clumps of dryed grass all over most of the fairways. Lost 4 balls on decent drives landing on the fairways but just disappearing in the grass. This is supposed to be golf which is difficult enough as it is without playing hunt the ball! Between us we lost 10 balls and not through bad shots but rough course conditions (except the greens which were good although varied a lot in speed). Spoke to the lad in the pro shop about the course and he couldn’t be bothered about what we were saying and just shrugged his shoulders and said it was down to the weather. Even when prompted for a proper response nothing. Very unhelpful and sums up a very bad experience of this club. Be ware if you book here and check on course conditions before you play.
