Rock Creek Park Golf
Played On 09/18/2022A true artifact
Wildly overpriced at $36 on GolfNow. Should be $15 + cart. This is kind of a hand-made old course. Greens were slow but playable. Most everything else was marginal. It's just a place for golf nostalgia. Maybe you grew up around here and this is where you first played. Well get ready, it hasn't changed. Rumor has it Gil Hanse may be remodeling it. Don't hold your breath.
East Potomac Golf Links - White Course
Played On 08/18/2022Very impressive
Truly a course for all skill levels, the White is very enjoyable. I was extremely impressed by the great condition it was in, even in a sun baked summer. Great course to walk!
Laurel Hill Golf Club
Played On 08/07/2022Tough track
I know from working at a fine golf course that the essential ingredient is to have a large staff. Then you have the ability to keep the course in great shape. Laurel Hills is a great course suffering from low maintenance and probably understaffed. The design is brilliant and a bit too difficult for a high handicapper like me. But I enjoyed the challenge.
Marine Park Golf Course

Played On 09/14/2020A nice round
I enjoyed playing a four-hour round today. This is a good layout. The crew makes sure the greens and aprons are in good shape. But I think lack of money prevents them for maintaining bunkers, which were a sea of weeds. The answer is: hit it straight and avoid the bunkers.
Dunwoodie Golf Course
Played On 08/23/2020Interesting course
It's a short course that isn't a pushover. Variety of holes keeps it interesting. Pace was what you'd expect on a Sunday. Only negative was the very slow greens. I thought $65 was a little steep for a muni.
Hi NotarySojack. We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Dunwoodie Golf Course.
Top of the World Golf Course
Played On 07/16/2020Charming course
We had a deliteful 18 at Top of the World. It’s a very old school experience. The course feels like it was built by a guy with lots of land as well as money. In fact, that’s the story. Enjoyed the round a lot. Just don’t come expecting lux fairways. It was all clover. But the layout was interesting and challenging.
Francis Byrne Golf Course
Played On 06/14/2020Excellent challenge
This course is among the best I've found near NYC. Course condition was perfect. The course design was exceptional. Shaped by Seth Raynor, this 18 was once half of Essex County Country Club next door. The county has poured a lot of cash into conditioning. All bunkers were in great shape. Everything about the layout was special. Pretty hilly, so you might consider riding.

Arthur Hills at Palmetto Hall Plantation
Played On 02/24/2020Most impressive course on HHI
The Hills course is an impressive piece of architecture. The greens are huge and the bunkering around them is beautiful and complex. I found myself just staring at the massive movement of the earth. Every hole received the attention of the architect from tee to green. Great shot-making is a constant requirement. Multiple tees allow golfers of all skill levels to play. This course is an absolute MUST for any golf visitor. And a value at that.
Hidden Cypress Golf Club
Played On 02/05/2020Well maintained track
Course in very good condition despite recent rains. Six set of tee boxes, one for everyone. Contrary to one reviewer above, there is water on 16 of the holes, though not always seriously in play. Houses line the fairways though they are not intrusive. Undulating fairways very attractive.
Marina Bay Golf Course
Played On 06/01/2019Good choice for visitors
Here's a review from a visiting American duffer. Marina Bay is an interesting layout in immaculate condition. The course is lighted for night play, which is not a bad option considering the climate. Note that they require an indication of your handicap. I did not have a GHIN card with me, but they accepted my GolfLogix handicap. You might not get on if you do not have either of these!
I played only the back nine at 6:30 in the morning. Main feature of the design is the rolling fairways. Length is average. Greens are rolling also and true to putt. I rode along with three locals who were very friendly.
Bring your own golf balls, glove and tees if you can. Otherwise the pro shop makes you buy a dozen balls minimum (S$30) and a full bag of tees (S$12). Club rental was S$65 for a decent set of Callaways. Food options were pretty minimal. No decent restaurant. Nice locker room for more S$.
This is a good place to get your golf fix while in subtropic Asia.
Sharp Park Golf Course
Played On 05/15/2017The course has good bones
OK. This course was actually designed by Alister MacKenzie. That's for starters. Years of low budget maintenance have taken their toll. But the greens are just fine. And they mow the fairways every once in awhile. I enjoyed the routing. Nothing too tricky except one blind par 3 on the back. Overall I got my money's worth -- as a local senior. Main negative was the condition of the power carts -- dangerous.
TPC Harding Park - Fleming Course
Played On 05/08/2017A great walk
With no advance tee times you need to find an "off" day to play here. I had no problem getting on by myself on a Spring Tuesday. Very easy walk. Good conditions throughout. I will be back often.
And the restaurant is EXCELLENT.
Lincoln Park Golf Course
Played On 03/30/2017Hills to the max
Don't let anyone tell you this is a walking course. Unless you are in your 20's, this is a very hilly course and you will be worn out after 9 holes if you walk. That said, it is a challenging layout and in pretty good shape following the rainy winter. Greens are true and puttable.
Weekday pace of play was fine. The clubhouse is nothing to brag about. But Lincoln Park is a real value for SF residents.
Lomas Santa Fe Executive Golf Course
Played On 03/14/2017Golf should be fun
My wife and I love this course. It is short, but not a pushover. Interesting mix of holes, all well-maintained. A great course to walk and sharpen your short game. Staff is very friendly. After all, they work in paradise.
Thanks so much for your review. We're so glad you enjoyed your round at Laurel Hill Golf Club. That's what we like to hear! We hope to see you again soon!
