Greer Golf
Played On 12/02/2021So unexpected!
I have lived in western North Carolina for over 20 years. I am very familiar with elevated tees and greens, leaning fairways and undulating greens. Having played Greer a few times I can't help but think of it as a misplaced world. This is such an unexpected find in this area. The elevations, the sloping fairways and the undulating greens are dumbfounding (in a good way)! I'm about 1.25 hours away and won't think twice about making the trip to play this course; a land before dozers ( LostWorld, Land Before Time way)! It's so worth the trip to play. Don't miss out! Give it a shot!
Connestee Falls Golf Course
Played On 10/19/2021Don't miss the opportunity to play here
I always enjoy playing Connestee. It seems to be for the most part in great shape year round. All kind of wildlife to keep you occupied while you are waiting your turn. Herds of deer and an occasional bear with plenty of chipmunks and squirrels running around. A whole lot of beautiful scenery also! If you're ever around the area don't miss an opportunity to play a round of golf on this beautiful course
River Falls Plantation
Played On 02/08/2021Do not pass this up!
I fell in love with this course the 1st time I ever played it. The 1st 3 holes remind you of every municipal course you've ever played. Then when you get to hole 4 it completely changes! Every hole is different and challenging and the scenery is awesome! This is definitely one of the best courses in the Spartanburg area that you will find. Do not pass up the opportunity to play this course when you are in the area. You absolutely will fall in love with it. You may or may not score well but you will thoroughly appreciate the course!

...ad then what happened? I was very surprised to get a call back from the course manager. He read a review II had left. My 1st experience there wasn't a pleasant one because of the pace of play. We were approaching a 6 hour pace of play. After hole 15 we called it quits. I had left an overall excellent rating for the course but stated my displeasure for the pace of play. Upon reading my review he took it upon himself to give me a second chance. He gave us a special rate to try the course again. It was very kind and generous. I really appreciated it. We had a great time. The course was a little busy but the pace of play was great this time around. Love the course and would definitely recommend it to anyone passing through or living around the area. It is well laid out, plenty of scenic views and a challenging but fun course! It was worth the hour and a 1/2 drive to revisit it. Thank you Wes for the opportunity!
Silver Creek Plantation
Played On 04/18/2020Missed oppurtunity
Course was an above average mountain course for these parts. Greens were in great shape and sneaky challenging. Fairways for the most part were decent. The pace of play was horrible! The 1st 9 wasn't much of an issue but on the 10th hole it shut down and shut down quickly. After 2 1/2 hrs to get through 5 holes my group of 3 left. Would have loved to stay and finish to experience the full course but, being an hour and a 1/2 away we probably won't get that opportunity. It was greatly disappointing to drive an hour and a 1/2 to play the course and then after walk out because of pace of play.
Village Greens Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/22/2020Great course
Typically the course is in great shape. Unfortunately, we had a lot of rain that caused the fairways to be matted. That is the only reason why I gave it an average for course conditions. As a course, it is a phenomenal course I always enjoy playing it. Hoeever, the greens can Really test your putting skills. It is definitely worth the drive even if you are over an hour away.
Thanks for the review! We are hoping the rain will clear up very soon, and we appreciate you taking the time to play our course!
Asheville Municipal Golf Course
Played On 02/25/2020Good Golf Outing
As municipal golf courses go it's in the middle of the pack. But it's worth The Visit. The front is pretty much wide open but then you make the turn to 10 and it's a completely different course. Worth The Visit and time.
Hello, johnmusser. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Connestee Falls Golf Course
Played On 07/26/2019Nice course
I've played this course several times. The fairways have been in better condition, but are definitely decent. Greens are in great condition and are challenging. The environment is worth taking a camera. Deer are always plentiful. You can drive by within feet of the deer and for the most part just watch you pass. The cost to play is overpriced. I play Cummins Cove also and the course is very similar but for half the price.
Blackstone Golf Course
Played On 07/14/2019Tucked away
I go to Florida about four times a year to golf with my brothers who live in Bonifay and Chipley. They have lived there for 20 years and hardly heard of Blackstone. We decided to play this weekend to give it a shot since our regular course Dogwood Lakes has been shut down. Everyone was absolutely amazed with the elevation changes and quality of the course overall. It is absolutely a gem tucked away in Northern Florida. I live in North Carolina in the mountains and it is similar to some of the courses here and made me feel right at home. If you're thinking about playing it pull the trigger and go for it.

This is a 27 hole course. Holes 1-18 have new greens. Not sure the type of grass but very course. It makes them a little slower to play than I am use to, but putts so true. This course's name is on point. There are some subtle breaks that will make you scratch your head. Some false fronts will also surprise you should you take your eyes off of your ball before it comes to a stop. There has been times my jaw has dropped as I pull up to the green to find my ball off the green after hitting a beautiful shot.
Cherokee Valley Course and Club

It has been awhile since I have last played this course. I had forgotten how much I love this course. Every hole is set up different in layout, shot shaping and elevation. The fairways were so green and full. The greens were in excellent shape. But, beware. some of the greens seemed to have different grass. Some were coarse and some were smooth. It made playing the speed of the greens always changing and kept you on your toes. I can't recommend the course enough, I won't wait so long to go back again.

They have done great work on the first 18 greens. This is a 27 hole course. And all 27 holes are worth playing in the same round, but have only replaced the first 18 greens. They are immaculate! They are slow, but in amazing shape. It's a really great course to play. Some holes are short, some are long, but when you are done you feel like you have played a unique course. It's not a course where you drive, approach and chip/putt. Each shot is different. Play and enjoy!
Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/29/2018Always pleasant
It is a closed course for me. I always enjoy playing there. Each hole has its Challenge and many have great views. Have your camera ready when you approach the par-3 16th hole.
Legacy Pines Golf Club
Played On 03/18/2018Awesome place
This is a course that is really well laid-out and worth the travel. It is an hour and a half from my house and though the trip is long the experience is great! So many of the holes are so unique it is not like playing the same hole over and over. Greens are in perfect shape but the fairways were a little matted because of the wet weather we have had. I encourage everyone who loves to play golf and enjoy a course to go.
The Rock Golf Club & Resort
Played On 01/24/2018Challenging and unique
I booked through GolfNow and the price was an extreme value for the course. I am one of those is tempted to use his driver at every tee box always looking for every extra yard to give me the advantage but on this course there are a few holes that makes you hold back the driver. The course is so well laid out and each hole plays unique that it seems like a different coursee just about every hole. It is riddled with water in the form of creeks and ponds which also lends itself to forcing you to choose your shot wisely. The greenss are in excellent shape and take a good eye to read some of the subtle breaks. Overall it was a fantastic experience from the staff friendliness to the course play! It will definitely be worth your time to play it.

Course is in excellent shape. Layout is excellent. Each hole is unique. Some holes require shot placement. It is a must play in the Duncan area.
Cleghorn Golf & Sports Club
Played On 07/08/2017Great Course
I play this course at least once a month and it has always been enjoyable. The greens were just maintained before playing and was not grown in yet. Still putted very well though. This is the only reason I could not give the course condition an excellent. Greens are well kept and condition has never been an issue except for when routine maintenance is underway. Depending on your handicap you may find this course somewhat challenging. But this I can assure you: You will definitely enjoy the course.
Oconee Country Club
Played On 03/21/2017Good Experience
Overall, it was a great day out. Having been our first time it was a little unnerving taking blind tee shots. To the course's credit they had target flags out which really helped. Greens were great (and undulating). Fairways were fair. Grass was somewhat matted. I don't think they have had time to pop yet. Nonetheless, I have no qualms recommending this course.
Maggie Valley Resort & Country Club
Played On 03/18/2017Gotta Try It Again.
Unfortunately, I had to rank the Course Condition lower than I wanted. We picked a bad day to play. Apparently, the area received a great amount of rain the night before that left the course sopping. Also, the greens had been very recently aerated and sanded which made for extremely slow putts. Amazingly, however, they putted fairly true. My only other disappointment with the course was on the back nine. It was titled Mountain Nine. It was a little misleading. Still fun to play but definitely not extreme elevations.
The Omni Grove Park Inn
Played On 02/14/2017Bucket list
We played on a chilly morning. There was not much traffic at all. The course overall was in good shape. Greens are fantastic and fast. A couple of the holes confused me. The first par-5 was only 385 yards. But it cost me a shot since there was not a layout describing the hole and I took a shot thinking I was cutting a corner only to be 90 degrees away from the Target and into a water pond. Only second time I had played with a year in between. Par-fives are very reachable in two. It's great to be able to say you played there for The Prestige.
Hello and thank you for your 5-star rating, johnmusser! We're delighted you enjoyed your round. Please book another round with us soon, and thanks for choosing River Falls Plantation!
