Everything was great except for 13 had a temporary green.

My boss had raved to me about this course for years but I never had reason to drive 1.25 hours to get down there.
Monday the day before the 4th of July provided us with the chance to play it as they still had a few early times when I looked Saturday. The course has a few blemishes on a few greens from the fungus and the bunkers could use a little more TLC. The rough was like we were playing a Major. I also had trouble on the long par 4s and I played the senior tees, so bring your A game! We had a good time even with all of that.

The greens had been sanded recently but the ball still rolled fast and true. Tough pins that Monday.

Well for starters I began the round with an eagle on #1.
After that, it was downhill for me. Greens were rolling fast and true. Fairways play well from the center but winter conditions make it hard to play from the hard pan lies. The beverage cart came by frequently enough for our group.

We love playing here though we should have called the pro shop and asked about conditions. They had recently sanded but it was still very playable.

We play Whitestone one or two times a month and have a great time each visit. The greens will fool you as you don't really get the feel of them until about the third hole.

We had tricky pin placements on several greens and all still had decent scorers.

The greens are in the best shape they've had since the freeze a few years ago. We thoroughly enjoy playing here!

Had a flat tire on the way to the 6th hole and waited almost 45 minutes on a replacement cart. It appears staffing and communication were the issues. No complaints about the rest of our round.

We were the 5th group to tee off at 7 am.
Everything was going well until the 12th hole.
All of a sudden a tournament started via a shotgun start.
That is ridiculous. Someone messed up badly as it took us over 2.5 hours to complete the remaining 6 holes of our round!

Rain was in the forecast so several tee times were canceled leaving us with an early start on a near-empty course. Cart path only is not my idea of fun but it wasn't so bad. Great round overall!!

We play here every few months and this round was as good as the rest. There are a few bad spots on some greens but I'm sure they have plans to remedy that situation soon. If you've never played here it is a treat!

This is one of our favorite courses to play while staying in the area. It'd been two years since the last round and things had changed some. First, the front and back nines have been reversed. Second and this is my observance they lost the superintendent that managed the course during our previous stays. I've seen the same here in TX. They were working hard on eradicating that nasty fungus the day we played and I'd bet the tee boxes are also on the to-do list. Fairways are decent with dry spots on the edges on a few holes but with this course, that really gives it character. It's a fun layout! Didn't see a beverage cart but we also need off at 6:30 am. 3 hour round.

I like this course because of its openness.
Was met at the car by an attendant who took my bag to the cart area. Luckily I was paired with a few locals who knew the layout. Tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. The greens had been aerated recently but surprisingly they were faster than I am accustomed to in TX and they rolled true. Did not see a beverage cart but our start time was 6:48 so no biggie. I will be back!

Had the course to ourselves on a Sunday mid-day, high temp around 90s, with wind gusts 25 mph. The first green spooked us as it has a bad growth of some sort? But the rest of the course was fine, nice and green!

Still, a fun track though, and should be even better after the spring rains.

We and about all the other golfers in the area all converged at Whitestone for the nicest weather day we've had all year. It was a 5 hour round, but really only backed up at the par 5's. The greens were recently thatched so we had that to deal with too. Just glad to be out playing!
