Westwood Golf Club

First I will start with how the course no longer will let a single book a round. When I inquired at the pro-shop, was lied to about singles booking multiple rounds due to not knowing if reservation went through, which is a lie, you get a confirmation withing 30 seconds. I was informed to call the pro-shop, they would "fit me in", which means they will allow me to golf when they want, kind of sounds like the old ownership. Not sure why a singles green's fee is less important, I mean it's called customer service. When the new owners purchased the course, they improved the customer service, at first, now it's back to dictating to the consumer, not a great way to run a business.
As far as the bar/restaurant, cold food, orders incorrect, out of half the items on the menu. The wife will golf 9 with dinner and call that date night, pretty awesome, well thanks for ruining our date night.

Played On 05/21/2019Since the new owners purchased the course, my frequency of playing this course has increased, often giving them a high rating. Already this season, played here multiple times, as usual the course was in great condition. While not the longest or most challenging course, one does use every club in their bag. The main issue I have recently here is with how the staff, which usually is the same person, in regards to utilization of carts. First, which is for all courses, if two people book a tee time, why does each person pay the full cart fee, it should be split between the two. Now to the issue at Westwood, I often golf alone, so of course I do not mind being paired up with groups of 2 or 3, but the last few time the same employee keeps telling me I have to share a cart with someone I do not even know. If i paid for a cart, I want my own cart, not be forced to ride with a stranger, the excuse recently was, "well we are running out of carts", not my problem, buy more carts.
To circle back, we have made some adjustments! We have added this to our itemized receipts. The cart fee is actually only half of a cart fee. Please feel free to come talk with us in the club house. We absolutely want to make sure you are getting the best value!
We appreciate you leaving a review and rating us. We will inform the entire team, so they know their hard work is paying off. We look forward to having you back!

Played On 03/19/2019I have played this course in the past, usually have an issue booking on their site, Golf Now made it easy. Being that it's March the course was in decent condition, really cannot complain. The pace of play could have been better, had a foursome in front of us that clearly were not educated on the etiquette of golf. Still overall an enjoyable round. The staff is friendly, course in good condition for the time of year, spent the day golfing instead of at work, who can complain.
Wedgwood Country Club
Played On 10/23/2017I have been golfing for a few years now with this course being one that I play multiple times throughout the year. So for my review, the good: for a public course it is pretty well maintained. It is a challenging course offering some open and narrow fairways. The water hazards offer an interesting challenge. The grounds crew are friendly and complete their work around the players, not disrupting a round. Overall it is a fun and challenging course to play. Now the bad, first the staff needs to get on the same page as the website. The website states $46 for a round, which I do not mind paying. When I get there I am charge $49, when I question why the price difference I am told "That's the price." Also as I stated in a review elsewhere, too many cart only holes. I get a par 3 should be a cart only, but a 500+ yd hole should not. In fact 7 of the 18 holes are cart only. I do recommend this course to golfers of all levels.

As I have stated before, I am a relatively new golfer, a little over a years experience. I saw a deal on golfnow.com, which made it much more affordable for me and my son to golf a round. My son is in the Army, home on leave, he is actually the person that started me golfing, not sure if I should love or hate him for that, lol. My goal was to take him for a round here at Scotland run. If he were writing this with me, he would agree about what a beautifully maintained course this is. Even the sights of the rusted plane or crane adds to the charm. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I cannot stress enough how beautiful and well maintained the facility is.
As with all positives, there has to be a negative or two. The first is the price, if I did not find a deal on golfnow.com, there is no way we could have afforded a round here, it is a bit over priced to play. The pace of play was an utter disgrace, the course needs marshalls to educate people on proper course ettiquette, such as if there are multiple groups behind you, do not take 20 practice swings, then hit 2 or 3 balls. I am not sure if I am becoming a better player or the course is not as challenging as advertised, at the end of the round, I expected my score to be much higher.
I would recommend for golfers of all skill level to play at least one round here, it really is a great place to play.

I like to start my reviews by mentioning I am a newer golfer, a little over a year now. I had read and heard many negative comments about the course in general, would like to say I was pleasantly surprised. One has to remember it is a public course, so yes it is a little beat up, but overall I would say in pretty good condition. The greens are amazing, soft and well maintained. Fairways are in pretty good condition, but like most public courses, the golfers need to fix their divots. The drink carts could not be timed better, seemed whenever I needed a drink, there they were, but could do a better job with the water station placement.
Now the few negatives, the layout of the holes seems to be too much, off one green right to the tee box, by that I mean, too narrow and straight, play does get boring. I want to say 4-8 all feel like playing the same hole. I felt like the sprinklers were following my group the first 3 holes, turned on each time we teed off. Like I said before, golfers need to fix their divots.
Overall not a bad course, I will play there again. Fortunately I found a great deal on GOLF.now, so did not mind what I paid.
