Things have gone downhill at Mission Mountain

I’ve played here several times over the past 25 years. Always enjoyed it and thought it was a nice course and good value, but yesterday in addition to bare spots, muddy areas, and rough tee boxes, the greens were shaggier and slower than any course I think I’ve ever played. It was extremely frustrating.

Still the best

This was my third visit to the Boulders and what a thrill to discover I’d get to play all 18 holes of the South Course for the second time. After playing it several years ago, I’ve since considered the South Course my favorite course anywhere, and after playing it again yesterday, I still do. From the scenery to the course conditions to the staff and service, everything is first-rate. And speaking of rates, I got a fantastic deal too. In my opinion you won’t find a more enjoyable or scenic round of golf. It’s truly awesome. Don’t hesitate to book a round here.

Probably the worst course conditions I’ve found in Phoenix

I managed to take a nice photo, but even the cart paths are in terrible shape at this flat, boing course surrounded by highways. Little grass on the fairways which makes you wonder why the 90 degree rule was necessary. Not sure what they’re protecting! It didn’t take long for my ball to be in desperate need of a ball washer. They had some, just not any that had water in them. Played all day with a dirty ball! I will say the sand traps we’re nice and soft with plenty of sand, and I completed my 18-hole round in only 3 1/4 hrs, plus I met up and played with two nice fellow native Washingtonians which managed to make it an enjoyable round,

Fantastic Value

Visiting Phoenix for a week, and with so many affordable options, it wasn't easy picking a course yesterday. But Arizona Golf Resort had good reviews and I couldn't imagine it getting much cheaper, so i chose it. Once I got there, I knew I'd made the right choice. First off, I got to play alone which is always a good thing because it means I can set my own pace. Plus, who's company do I enjoy more? Water on the left of the 1st hole made me really consider my club selection on the second shot of the Par 5, so the course already had it's challenges. Sure there were some dry or muddy spots on the course, but the fairways were nice and green as were the greens. Yes, the greens were actually green, and not too fast, not too slow. You could hold your approach shot, which was nice as I'm not good enough to hit the ball with any spin! I also liked that the cups were painted white, which always makes it easier to see the hole and make putts. And the bunkers had a good and consistent amount of sand. I should know because I was in them a lot. While I may have been unhappy about that, it speaks to the quality of the course design. It's a mature course with trees but it's a very good layout where each hole is separate (no dodging balls from other fairways) with reachable Par 5's, some 400+ yd Par 4's, long Par 3's and a drivable Par 4. There was water in the ball washers and water in the drinking fountains which were located in several spots along the course. I thought this was a terrific value and a very positive experience. The friendly cart attendant and I agree that people are missing out if they're not considering this course. Especially for what I paid, I highly recommend the Arizona Golf Resort.

Wore out my camera

I think this is the most beautiful course I've ever played. Lots of elevation changes, fun and scenic holes. Not punishing though, as the contours tend to bring your ball back toward the middle of the fairway. Much different than nearby Sunridge Canyon in that regard. Do not miss playing here, especially for a great summer rate.

A really special golf community on the western edge of Phoenix

Very nice course with some elevation changes and beautiful scenery. Staff was very accommodating. In fact, my friend and I arrived a couple of hours early and were allowed to tee off at our leisure after hitting range balls and some putts. Complimentary water and ice were available where we picked up our cart. The course was challenging where it should be and forgiving where it needed to be - perfect for a regular golfer like me and my friend who doesn't play as much. Fairways were often wider than they appeared from the tee box and many balls we assumed would be lost we ended up finding. The course conditions were very good, as was the restaurant. A really nice experience, a great value, and highly recommended.
