Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa - Mountainview
Played On 05/02/2020Disappointed
First off, the staff is genuinely friendly and kind.
This course is much rougher than in the past. I understand bunkers are rough during this pandemic without rakes for them, however the old bunkers that they are letting grow in are in terrible shape.
The weather has been quite wet, so the heavy heavy rough can be forgiven, but it has become not worth the cost in this kind of condition. And that being said , some holes if you haven’t played here before can be quite challenging with blind landing areas and hard to tell how the hole will layout ahead of you, but this is nothing new.
The surroundings are nice with with views of the lake, at least in the spring and fall while the leaves aren’t present.
I think the course could use a bit of course conditioning to get back to it’s former glory.
Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course
Played On 03/08/2020Nice layout
Played Oak Forest first, kinda slow play but to be expected when your a twosome following a threesome on a cart path only day.
With all the rain the course was soft and muddy, greens were true , I enjoyed that. Paired with a local gentleman that was informative.
Second nine was the Burn Kill nine , I liked it more , the layout and length. Plenty of tee boxes to satisfy one’s ability.
A thrift nine , Black Robin was being occupied by a High School tournament.
The starter was a friendly informative Lady, and all staff I came in contact with was friendly...the Pro Shop gentleman could learn to maybe smile.
All in all I like the course, but seldom in this area beyond spring, so conditions are limited by weather, but I think I would really enjoy this course in firmer conditions.
The Club at Pine Forest
Played On 03/11/2014A real test!
I played in late winter, so fairways were still mostly dormant which left quite tight lies; that being said, having not played in months ( thank you to the N.E. ) this course has length and hidden hazards. Greens are elevated, so any shot not on but near green will be a blind chip to many multiple level greens, challenging for sure. Would like another opportunity when course is in full bloom, with growing grass in the fairways. A true test of accuracy and distance.
