Catawba Creek Golf Course
Played On 03/22/2022Stay away
At one time this was a good course to play for a senior citizen. However they have purchased new carts that have GPS feature in the cart to keep you from going in areas they do not want you to drive the cart, Unfortunately the carts are constantly cutting off while on the cart path and you have to put the cart in reverse and back up to get the cart running again. This has been reported to management multiple times and evidently they have no idea how to remedy this issue. To compound the issue with the carts there is practically no grass on the course due to the cutting it so low for the winter. Bunkers are mostly junk also. It is a shame that a course with great greens is being such a pain in other areas. Will be quite a while before I go back.

Played On 08/04/2021Too costly for a course in mediocre shape
I had played this course several years ago and was told it was in better shape. Took a chance on the suggestion and was sorely disappointed. Greens a full of pock marks where people apparently refuse to fix their ball marks. Cart paths were horrendous and jarred you to pieces since there is broken concrete all over the course on the cart paths. My back is still hurting hours after getting off of the course. Bunkers have grass growing out of them and this is the same issue I had years ago with the course. Surely charging a senior $40.00 during the week to play they could spend some money on grass killer and have the bunkers clean. There are way to many courses in the area at a similar or better price that are in tremendously better condition to play. This will be my last time playing this course.
Rivers Edge Golf Club
Played On 05/26/2021awful condition for the price
Was told this was one of the gems of the area and boy was I ever disappointed! This being an extremely challenging course in the first place to have fairways that were burnt up and hard as concrete made it 1000% harder. Shots that should have held up in a fairway just rolled like they had been shot out of a cannon and into trouble made the round very disappointing. The sad part was the greens were in great shape but having been penalized for the fairways being rock hard and getting you into trouble meant scoring well was out the window. Certainly will not be back at this course..

Played this course in a captains choice tourney years ago and never got back until this week. The course had been closed for many years and the new ownership has completely redone the greens. The greens were in fantastic shape and the fairways were in good shape. The only negative I could say about the course was that the bunkers have not been redone and were in unplayable condition and the cart paths on the front nine were in very back shape (so bad it pounded our backs while riding on them). I would however recommend to anyone to go ahead and play the course. Hopefully there will be further improvements made on the bunkers and cart paths.

Played On 09/11/2019Wow!! What a change
I played this course several times over the past years and each time I was extremely disappointed in the overall condition of the course. Then the management of the course decided it was time to perform miracles and they certainly have!!! The course is now in fantastic shape with new greens that are rolling fast and true. The bunkers have all been redone and now you have good sand in them should you be unfortunate enough to end up in one of them. There are a few greens that have minor rough spots that have not yet come completely in with the rebuild but you can certainly expect that the management will fix that in due process. If I was to give any negative comment it would be that the rough is way to high for the once a week golfer. It was at a level that I believe that would give a PGA professional grief should they get in there.. I lost 2 balls due to the fact that I could not locate them in the rough. It was such a pleasure to play on this challenging and pretty course. Will absolutely be back!!!
Legends Golf Resort - Moorland Course
Played On 05/20/2019We considered this to be a "goonie golf" course
Played this course prior to play with a large group on the other Legends course that week. While the fairways and greens were in good shape this course has some of the goofiest layouts for hole that I have ever played on. You will likely need to be a near professional to score anything reasonable on this course. The other two Legends courses were quite pleasurable to play on. I would not recommend this course at all to spend money and time on.
The Divide Golf Club
Played On 04/11/2018A shame it has not been taken care of
Played there for the first time and I will not return. Fairways were dormant but also nearly bare. Greens were full of Poa Annua and so bumpy you couldn't get a putt roll true. They also had quite a few bare spots which made it difficult to putt. Additionally the bunkers have not been taken care of and obviously no one who plays there knows how to rake a bunker. The times anyone in our group ended up in a bunker was either in a footprint or unraked area, Doubtful we will ever return. It is a good layout that is just not taken care of.
Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation
Played On 07/23/2015Great course
This is the second time I have played this course. With thee summer weather having been like it has this course is in fantastic shape. Greens were for the most a bit slow but I understand why considering the weather. Pace of play was a bit slow today due to the number of golfers but the course ranger finally got pace picked up on the back side. If I have one really negative comment was that the greens have way to many ball marks on them. This is really not the course management's fault, it is disrespectful golfers that refuse to repair ball marks. Spent way to much time repairing them before a putt. Overall however the best course I have played in the area!

I hate hearing this and being taken advantage of is the paying public. If quality is dropping, then lower your pricing until you get your act together. Courses that are five star should be rewarded, courses that are less should adjust the pricing accordingly. It’s one thing to pay 40 and pay an average course, it’s another thing to pay 95 and it’s just an average of course
