I enjoyed this Donald Ross municipal course very much. Newly renovated greens with paspalum grass in great shape. Good fairways. They've apparently removed some bunkers, so not as challenging as some Ross courses, although the familiar green shapes are present. Very walkable.

I expected the home course of the LPGA tour to be excellent, and was not disappointed. Large practice area with every type of condition, bunkers, slopes, etc. Course in excellent condition, greens not too fast, but a little tricky. Generous fairways, rough not penal.. Thought price for afternoon round very fair. Plenty of ponds and water. Will play again and am looking forward to trying the other course. Group in front of us was slow, but we passed them after nine and never saw anyone else.

Too bad about this course. The layout has potential, but the playing conditions were poor,, even for the price. Hardly any grass on the fairways, and bumpy, burnt out greens. Surprising, as the staff was great, carts had GPS, and other resort amenities. I'd go back only if the conditiions were demonstrably imrpoved.

I enoyed the Venetian. Nice layout with generous fairways and a nice variety of holes. Only problem was greens had had a tough winter and were very bumpy. Friendly staff. We were first group off so played in less than 3.5 hours.

Heard about this course in Golf Digest. Nicely rolling, treed, lot's of bunkers, excellent greens, good fairways. We were very happy and will play again. Construction on the back nine did not affect play, although the loss of trees in unfortunate. Layout is not affected.

I couldn't recommend Grande Dunes more. Staff friendly 'and helpful, great practice facility, beautiful design and layout, greens rolling nicely even thought they'd been sliced recently. Also, pace of play good even though they let morning groups off both tees. our foursome finished in 4:15. Definetely worth a try if you're in Myrtle.
