Preakness Valley Golf Course - West
Played On 07/07/2018Very slow pace of play
I’ve played this course more times then I can count but never put in a review until now. For starters the pace of play on both courses is horrendous. Be prepared for a five hour plus round on a nice weekend day. You’ll never see a ranger the entire day and most of the regulars at this place have no clue about golf etiquette whatsoever. To make matters worse today (Saturday) they decided that it made sense to book an outing with a shotgun start at 11:30AM. Most idiotic thing I’ve ever seen. The starters don’t know what they are doing and the staff in the shop are no better. If you’re even the slightest bit serious about golf, don’t waste your time or money on Preakness Valley.

Played On 07/11/2015Tight fairways and plenty of hills
Played this course for the first time, and overall it was a very nice experience. Fairways are very tight with thick rough, plenty of trees and thick natural areas throughout the entire course. You have to keep your drives in the fairway if you want to score well. This is a VERY hilly course with some sort of elevation change on almost every hole. In fact, the 9th hole is one of the most dramatically uphill holes I've ever played. Its not super long, but it is literally straight up a mountain. The course was in good shape, but the greens were kind of dry which made them very fast and difficult to hold on approach shots. Couple the speedy dry greens with virtually no flat putts and putting was an adventure. I found it to be a bit pricey unless you go after 1PM, but the pace of play was good and I would go back and play again.
Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course
Played On 06/30/2015Nice course
Nice option if you're planning to play a few rounds of golf in charleston. Course was in good shape for a municipal and there are some challenging holes. The three nine hole combinations give you a few options.

Real nice course that was in great condition. Some very challenging holes that make you really think about the next shot. Very nice practice facility and pro shop. Definitely one of the must visit courses for golfers coming to the charleston area.
Eagle Ridge Golf Club - Ridge Course
Played On 04/25/2015Real nice course and a great value
Course was in great condition and played very well. Fairways are tight and demand accurate drives to score well. Greens are challenging and in good shape. The ability to mix and match the various 9 hole layouts gives you many different options. The staff was very nice and it was easy to book a decent tee time on a Saturday using Golf Now. Overall it was a very good value at $56 for the round including a cart.
