Pace of play is always an issue here and this time was no exception, but this was my first time playing an early afternoon tee time and the pace was worse than normal. In addition, one of our playing partners had to wait over 15 minutes to get a parking space. They do not employ a beverage cart, so we waited on two groups at the turn, presumably because they went in to get food and drink after the front nine. Finally, the clubhouse was closed by the time we finished at 5:45, so we had to go elsewhere for our normal post-round routine. Decent course, but be aware of the above.

Best golf value in Atlanta with challenges for golfers at every level. Greens run true, fairway weeds have been eliminated, and tee boxes are in great shape for this time of year.

Recent improvements include cutting down the high grass surrounding many holes, meaning you at least have a chance of finding that wayward shot!

Give this course a shot - the view from the 18th tee are reason enough!

Course was in great shape and we even got started right on time on this busy holiday weekend round.

As we approached the first tee box, a cart whizzed past us and we saw the rider join the group immediately in front of us. With no apparent warm up for this later arrival, we patiently waited while he took several swings and then hit away. By this time, the foursome in front of that group had cleared the green and was teeing off on number 2.

By the 3rd hole, it was apparent this "PGA pro" needed to assess each stroke very deliberately. By the time they cleared the third green, we had waited five minutes for our approach shot and it only got worse from there.

Marshalls were evident throughout the round and commented that there was no one ahead of the group in front of us but that did not seem to speed them up. We finished in just under five hours, so not real bad for a weekend, but frustrating in that we could have easily played in about 4.5 hours had our "PGA pro" been thinking about others.

Played with my son and daughter-in-law. Met at the bag drop by a very helpful associate who unloaded our bags and gave us directions for parking and check-in.

After warming up, the starter kept us informed on when we should head over to the first tee and then gave us a survey card for the course.

Course was in great shape considering the rain we had the night before. Marshalls' were present but not intrusive and kept us informed of the progress of the group ahead and behind us. We never felt pressured to play faster but still made it around the course in four hours. Even got to see Bambi and momma and daddy deer right off one of the greens!

Will definitely be back.

Partner and I felt like we had the course to ourselves on this cold, wet, and windy day. Pace of play, as a result, was great as we tooled around in under 3.5 hours.

The wet conditions did limit the course, as we saw standing water in a number of fairways and even one green. We also noticed many of the tee boxes were very chopped up with minimal grass and an overflow of broken tees. Obviously, the inability to get out for normal maintenance was the reason for both conditions.

Course will be shutting down soon for major renovations, so they've shaved the fairways and imposed cart path only restrictions. In addition, many greens are in horrible shape and several tee boxes were unmarked.

Was hoping for a memorable final round on the old course but instead experienced a forgettable afternoon on a cow pasture.

Always a good time at Fairways of Canton. From the moment you walk into the pro shop to dropping off the cart at the end of the round, the staff is friendly, attentive, and focused on making your day as good as possible. Even the marshalls manage to maintain the pace of play while being friendly, encouraging, and even offering some local knowledge. Best course in the northwest Atlanta market as far as I'm concerned.

As expected, the course was in great shape and greens were very forgiving - when I could hit 'em! This is quickly becoming one of my go-to courses.

After having my tee time at the course up the road cancelled due to weather, I was very happy to see an opening at Callahan. Got the tee-time booked and was on the course an hour later.

Wet conditions limited course access, but also kept a few folks home, so I zipped through 18 holes in three hours.

Was grouped with three other players of better skill set so I was challenged to keep up with them in terms of ball striking.

We enjoyed the course but did run into some pace of play issues with the twosome ahead of us. Nevertheless, we moved through reasonably well once they found their rhythm.

Only complaint is the proximity of tees to greens on certain holes. I nailed a cart on the back nine with my tee-shot and it was only ten yards off the green! Fortunately, the occupant was not hit! Recognizing this is more my issue than the course, I would prefer to have a little more space between the two.

Despite the cold and wet conditions, the course played well. The greens ran true, albeit a bit slower than usual due to the wet track. All in all, a great day on the course.

Course was in great shape for a mid-winter round and was challenging to my duffer abilities. The elevation changes would make this an extremely challenging course to walk and it even taxed my cart in certain areas.

Driving range was a mat only set up on this day, which made it difficult to practice tee shots, something I desperately need to work on. Other than than, the range was fine, as were the pitching and putting greens.
