Played on a Sunday afternoon. A little bit windy but was awesome. Course was in great condition besides bunkers. Greens were in good shape. Ball rolled true.

Only walking allowed.

I play Marengo a few times a year. Greens, fairways and tees are always in great shape. Bunkers need some sand and a little TLC but they are playable.
Course design is challenging and rewarding when hitting close to your shots. Highly recommended for a good price.

I had never played Tam. I had heard that it is a great course. It did not disappoint. Lush fairways, greens, tees and bunkers. Very impressed. Greens were quick but extremely receptive and rolled true. Not a long course, but awesome if you want to work on hitting a hybrid / 5 wood or iron from the tees.
Staff was courteous, professional and warming. I didn't stop in for a sandwich or libation, but the bar looked fantastic.

I’ve been playing George Dunne, Forest Preserve National, since it opened. Awesome course but shots are demanding. If you’re a hi handicapper, bring lots of balls. If you’re hitting where you’re looking, the course can be rewarding!
Traps are in need of some sand and TLC, but are playable.
Unfortunately, we got behind 3 groups of new golfers. They we’re struggling which made for a long afternoon/ evening for us.
Our cart ran of battery power on 12. We called the course, at 7:00. Luckily, they picked up the phone and had a new cart out to the 12 tee right after we teed off. Very thankful!

I’ve played Red Tail 3-4 times a year for the past few years. It’s well maintained, tees, fairways, greens and bunkers always well cared for.
Course has 4 sets of tees so you can take any challenge you want. Lots of different character throughout the round with many different strategies to score successfully on the different holes.
Staff is friendly. Food is solid and the beer was cold. Pretty great way to spend an afternoon!

Course is well maintained. Greens and fairways are in decent shape. Greens are very small, but run true and do hold a good shot. No driving range.
Beautiful day. My wife and I were in from Chicago. We tried to greet the man behind the counter. He must have been having a bad day. He just grunted. I ordered a 6 pack for the course. His response was that he couldn’t believe he had to do more work.
All that said, if you can get a hot deal for the course, it’s a good way to spend a couple of hours with a friend / spouse!

I was in college when George Dunne opened, “ Forest Preserve National “ back in the day. Course continues to be the top shelf of the Cook County Forest Preserve courses. Awesome layout, meticulously manicured greens, fairways and tees. Bunkers are abundant, cavernous and deep, they are lacking sand, one large criticism of the course. Other than that, a great day on the golf course. Played on a Tuesday at 12:00. Done in 3 hours. Good practice facility, cart person was around every 30 minutes, so life was great. Holes I hit it where I was looking also looked great on the score card, when I didn’t, got what I deserved. Highly recommend getting out to George Dunne. Bring enough gold balls!

Grew up on south side. Played Burnam Woods as a kid and high schooler 45 years ago. Another friend and I went back to play Burnam and George Dunne. Both courses were in great shape. Burnam has very small greens, but they were fast and true. Tee boxes and fairways were cut well and played quick. We had an 8:20 tee time and were one of the first groups off. Played in 2 hours and 50 minutes.
This is one of the original Forest Preserve courses. No bells and whistles but 18 tree lined holes of golf with small greens. If you’re learning or teaching someone to golf, this is a great place to start. Workers were all working hard and very friendly. It was good to see they have taken good care of an old friend!

Course has a great layout with lots of different challenges throughout the day. Greens, tees and fairways in great shape. Played in under 4 hours with a Hot Deal 10:00 tee time for $35. Very worth the $$$.

We, 8 golfers in the group, vacation in Ocean City every year and love to play the various courses. One of our MUSTS every year is Twisted Dune. Course has 5 sets of tees which presents a challenge for all of the family from a 3 to 24 handicap. Greens are fast, a bit weathered but still role true. Course lay out is magnificent. Links design with generous fairways to allow for more room off the tees. If you get off the tee fairly well, second shots are manageable. Played in a little less than. 4 hours.
Driving range and putting green are spaced pretty far apart, so if you plan on warming up, leave some extra time to get to each area.
Price at the shore has gone up across the board. Paid $70 at 2:45. Continues to be a family favorite.

Course is in good shape. Tees, bunkers, greens and fairways are manicured well. Played 18 holes in 3:30. Started at 3:00. No driving range. Good value at $50.

I’m vacationing from Chicago for the 25th year in a row. We always play several of the courses surrounding Egg Harbor Township. We played Harbor Pines at 3:00 on the 4th of July. 1 group in front, and 1 behind. Played in less than 2 hours for the nine holes. Course was in great shape. Greens and bunkers are some of the best in the area. Very quick but hold well. Staff were all professional, welcoming and helpful.
Couple of negatives: the driving range was closed, couldn’t hit balls before the round, I’m old and need more warm up time.
Price is also a concern. Over $100 a round for these courses is the current going rate but nowhere near the quality and detail to $40 to $75 courses in other parts of the country.
All in all, Harbor Pines does a good job of running a quality business and I recommend the course as one of the best near the OC shore.

Played on a Saturday afternoon. Beautiful weather. No one on the course except myself and my daughter. Tees, fairways and greens in good shape. Bunkers had sand but had not been groomed and many had no rakes, others had 1 rake per bunker. Greens were a little slow but rolled very true.
Staff at club house, the starter and the cart attendants treated us like we were the owners of our own country club. Awesome!!!

I play Marengo a couple of times per year. Course is always in great shape and the prices are very affordable.
No rain for a couple of weeks so course was hard and fast. Greens held but fairways rolled out. Bunkers need to be groomed.
Staff at the counter and the bar were friendly and welcoming.
All in all, played in 3.5 hours and had a great time.

Course was in really good shape. Tees, greens and fairways lush and green. Bunkers hadn't been dragged, probably done every other day, not in terrible shape but hadn't been dragged.
Course was packed but played on a Friday noon time in 4 hours. Starter and Course officials were on top of pace of play on the course.

McHenry is a good course. Manicured and well maintained. Fairways and greens were true and fast. That said, rough was a bit long, very difficult to find balls.
I'm sure the members enjoy the course and off-course amenities. Non-members cannot use the beautiful driving range, I may have missed that in the Golf-Now description, probably my bad.
Played on a beautiful Friday afternoon in 3 hours. I voted yes for a recommendation, but I probably wouldn't play again. I play a couple of times a week and many courses in area are as nice or nicer and not as expensive.

This is a magnificent course for working on 8,9, P or SW. Very few people on course, you can hit multiple shots without holding anyone up. Each hole I threw some balls around green or in the bunkers. Only problem was there were no rakes in the bunkers. Sand was in great shape, I felt responsible for raking, but I couldn't.
I've played the course for years and always get a great work out with all wedges. Nearly jarred an 8 iron from Walter Payton's tees! Nice 12 inch tap in for 2 on the third hole.

Course was in great condition! Tees, fairways, bunkers and greens were smooth and running fast / true. Need to hit the ball in vicinity of where you're looking. Fescue lurking on most holes.
Highly recommend. Spicy Tuna Wrap was also excellent!

I've played Turnberry before. Bunkers, greens, fairways and tees were in great shape. Rough a little long but, luckily played well and didn't effect the day. Hit balls before the round and played 18 holes in less than 3 hours. Great day.

Course was in amazing shape considering we had not had rain for two weeks. Fairways, tees and greens were lush, manicured and in great shape. Got a Hot Deal on a Monday afternoon and played in 3 hours and 15 minutes with a couple I paired with on the first tee. I play Red Tail a couple of times a year. Always on my list to go back to!
