I will preface this with two comments 1) the golf course was fine and 2) I don’t leave reviews very often unless something exceptional has occurred.

In playing golf for 25 years on this earth, I’ve never had a grumpier, less personable, less welcoming person check me in in the pro shop before a round than the young lady working the counter when I played. Never made eye contact, acted like I was incredibly an outing just for standing there, no “thanks for playing, welcome”. The 1st tee is sort of difficult to find…..she didn’t offer up any help. Didn’t say anything to us about the practice area available to us.

Just an incredibly bad experience, not just for me but in talking to a few other golfers that day who dealt with her. Hopefully HOPEFULLY she was just having a bad day. Otherwise……ooooof. Your golf course ain’t good enough to act like that to a person visiting for the first time.

By far the best, smoothest, fastest greens I’ve played in 2020. This was my first time here and I played the Lake/Mountain. Very nice routing. Other than the Greebs, the course was just a tad bit over watered for my liking but that’s really the only thing I have to gripe about. Pace of play was excellent.

I came up from Modesto to escape the heat and check this course off my list. Staff was great, locals friendly. The course itself needs some help but that’s ok! You come for the peaceful setting and I’ll be back!

Bennett Valley is a nice value for your money. Even though we played late on a Sunday, the greens were in excellent shape. The course layout is a bit monotonous with a lot of dead straight, tree lined holes but the greens make up for it.

Only gripe was that the bar/grill was shut down at 5 pm on a Sunday. A lot of thirsty golfers were a bit bummed!

I’ll definitely be back.

This is my home course so I am a bit biased but I love this place. The staff is very friendly, the greens are usually pretty good and the course is in pretty decent shape. Fun layout with some doglegs and slight elevation change on the back nine.

Jack Tone GC is a fun, quirky little par 62. The course has a few short par 4s and a par 5. The greens are generally very tiny with nice undulations. The course is usually in pretty good shape with nice bent grass fairways. This course has a nice community feel to it and it’s always nice to come back and see Tim the Pro in the shop.

Creekside is a nice muni course that is great for all levels. The course is usually in decent shape. Greens are large and undulating. The staff in the shop is extremely welcoming, as well.

This gritty little 9 holer has a great reputation for a reason. It’s a little rough around the edges but the layout is awesome. The greens are challenging and usually in good shape. Can’t wait for the coolest bar in SF to open up again. Best hang in golf!
