Beachwood Golf Club
Played On 08/10/2016Tough roughs
Fairways and greens were in good shape for this time of year. I normally play in the Virginia Beach/Suffolk area of Virginia. I am not used to some of these grasses or the way they are cut. So my comments may or may not be meaningful to the player used to these conditions. I have never played a more difficult 2nd cut off the fairways. It was very difficult to even find your ball if you missed the fairway. If you dropped a ball in this stuff you could barely see the top of the ball. When hitting out of this stuff you were guessing how well you could make contact with the ball or the thick grass.
The course is not a very challenging course based on the layout but the grass rough makes it more frustrating than fun at times. Staff was very frendly and it was a pleasure dealing with them. Girl was promp with the water/snack cart. Greens putted slow, but expected based on practice putting green. Hole location was not to difficult for the layout.

This is a course to learn on. It is a very short course for long irons, but is has some challenges that make the course interesting. The staff is great, and the accessibility is fantastic for a community course. Some areas need work from the greens keepers, but overall, it is worth the money if you want to play a short course.
Suffolk Golf Course
Played On 07/14/2016I really love this course
I enjoy every time I play this course. The conditions are good and the greens run medium speed. The course is challenging with a true 90 degree hole and a water hole that is more visual than actual problem, The course makes you think about your approach shot more than anything else.
