Callippe Preserve Golf Course
Played On 06/08/20225 Stars except Pace of Play
Best course for the money in the bay. The pace of play is absolutely dreadful. Callippe is a short course and should be played fairly quickly, but we had a four group jam on hole 4. The pace is slow but the clubhouse/restaurant is very nice, and well worth a visit on the turn. I finished my hot dog and drank my beer and still had to wait 15 more minutes to tee off on the 10th.

Compelling layout and the pace of play was really fast. Enjoyed my round. The course plays tight but rewards great drives. Laying up on a few of the holes is probably the better play, but wont satisfy the ego. Only issue is each green has literally 100 ball marks that were never mended. Not the golf courses fault, but it hints at something else. Play it for a quick fun round!

Played On 04/18/2022Great Conditions!
Played just over 4 hours around noon weekday. The greens were as nice as they could be, considering it's a muni and have so many players that dont fix their ball marks. The layout is always fun, it rewards good drives and makes you hit layups after bad drives on 5 holes as water and creeks cross the fairways. Had a great round and it's a 5 star experience considering the price is very cheap for the Bay Area.
Swenson Golf at Swenson Park Golf Course
Played On 07/19/2021Fun and Fast
Course was in great shape! It's in the middle of July, and I was surprised to see how green the fairways were in a city as hot as Stockton is. I live and play mostly in the Bay Area, and our courses arent as green nor as well maintained (outside of Calippe). Freindly staff as well. Check it out and play a round. You can't beat the price!
Hi, GolferTai. Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Swenson Golf at Swenson Park Golf Course.

Great course. Fairways are holding up well. There are dirt patches, but it doesn't affect you, as it's close to the tee boxes. They keep the greens rolling well all year long. Great course layout. Only gripe is that there are two holes with a tree right in front of you. If you can hit a draw (right handed player) then those two holes will be difficult for you.

My second time playing was very enjoyable as I had a better understanding of the course layout. The course has a lot of character. Up hills, down hills, dog leg left and right, short long, you name it. Greens are in great condition. There is a lot of hard pan, but it's rare you will ever hit your ball in it unless you seriously mess up, as they are lining the borders of oob or 50 yards in front of the tee box. Par 5's and Par 4's are fair, the par 3's are a bit long and harder to beat. Had a great time!
Swenson Golf at Swenson Park Golf Course
Played On 04/27/2020Very fun and forgiving course
Swenson is always a fun course to play. Its is very forgiving as there are only two holes where water comes into play, and even then it is essentially water that can be "outyarded" rather easily. Errant tee shots will almost always be found, due to lack of water or out of bounds. I played 1 ball the entire round. Play Swenson for the low scores and fun times!
Wow, we are so happy you enjoyed your round, GolferTai! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Callippe Preserve Golf Course
Played On 10/01/2020Great Course!
Callippe is a wonderful course! It's a bit pricier than neighboring courses, but the pricing is on par with the course conditions and the clientele. Rarely will you ever see a "Bro-dude" on the course yelling after every shot, bumping music, and playing scavenger hunt with other players golf balls. Only issue is when twilight players jump on the 10th hole as their opening hole as it can slow the back 9 to a stand still.

I really enjoy this course but don't expect a fast round. 4 hours minimum is the fastest round possible due to everyone walking this course. This course is not set up for walking. There are many holes that you need to cross streets and community walking/biking lanes that it makes a 4 hour round turn into a 4.5 hour round, and you're playing fast. Aside from the pace of play, the course is very enjoyable. Just bring a 5 hour mindset and you should be okay.
Thank you for the 4-star review! Due to current COVID-19 conditions, we must limit the amount of golfers in any one golf cart to help slow the spread of COVID-19. We understand that is not ideal but, we believe in doing our part during these extraordinary times.
Dry Creek Ranch Golf Course
Played On 03/31/2020Silly Tree Locations
Not a fan of this course, but it does present a challenge. Unfortunately, it doesn't reward players that can hit solid drives as trees in the middle of the fairway force you to hit a club down and away from the trees, which presents second shots that are too long for most golfers. This is on 4 of their holes, which essentially gives mid handicappers a guaranteed bogey or worse. The sand was nice and the greens were a bit slow but consistent and fair. Also, the tee box and the greens are too close in proximity. You have to be aware of errand shots while on the teebox on many of these holes. I did have fun but wont be back, as there are just so many more options.

Played On 03/17/2020Greens are amazing! Fairways are okay
First time at Tracy G&CC. Had a great experience. The greens are almost Callippe (Pleasanton) and Elk Horn (Stockton) quality, so if you have played those courses then you'll get a feel of what Tracy has to offer. The fairways are okay, there is however a lot of dirt, but only in the areas that wont affect your play like 50 yards in front of the teebox. The layout is nice and very challenging. I did however got lost or didnt know where to hit twice so if its your first time pay attention to the map on the scorecard. Not a bad course will be back soon!

Played On 03/12/2020Beautiful Country Club Feel
Great course! Only finished 13 holes due to it being busy and later in the day but they were very nice layouts. The greens were almost Castlewood quality along with the sand in the bunkers. The fairways are very wide but have bunkers everywhere so you need to be strategic on club choice off the tee box. Had a lot of fun and will definitely come back to finish the 18.
Redwood Canyon Golf Course
Played On 11/17/2019Great Value but attracts Wal-Mart Crowd
I love Redwood Canyon, but it needs to be played on a weekday. Weekends bring out way too many "Wal-Mart" type crowds. One group spent a good minute trying to run over a flock of geese with their carts, while there were two groups backed up watching them awaiting on the tee. There are at least 4 groups of these guys on the course everytime, because it's a crazy cheap golf course. The golf course itself is beautiful and has so much personality, with unique holes and challenges. I love Redwood Canyon, but not on the weekends.
Great! Thank you for visiting us at Redwood Canyon Golf Course. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.

Its cheap so I cant complain that much. The pace of play is slow because they have too many walkers and this is a course that you need to walk 2-3 minutes to get to the next hole. If you have a good book or have good company then the pace of play should not bother you as much, but 2.5 hours for 9 holes is rough...
Regulation at Las Positas Golf Course
Played On 08/15/2019I can live here!
1st time playing, I quickly realized accuracy is more important so I only used the driver 6 holes. You can roll the dice and try to out 'yard' the fairway bunkers, but I put my ego aside and used a hybrid to keep it in play. The course is great. It smells like crap but the course is great. Had a lot of fun and the pace of play is quick. Also, Beebs or whatever the bar/food place is named is the best 19th hole I have ever been at. Its frequented by non golfers and the atmosphere is amazing. I'm drinking a beer while writing this review and there are over 15 people here and only 2 that played golf. I love this place!

Overall really enjoyed the course. Not a fan of how close the homes are to the fairways on certain holes, but a wonderful course. Pace of play was quick, but I cant imagine what it would be like if there were walkers in front as you cross the street 6 times and some are long distances from each other. I guess I lucked out the day I played.
Thanks for the 5 stars! Glad to hear you had a great experience. We expect the course conditions to continue to improve. We'd love to have you back anytime! Have a great day.
