Green Valley Country Club
Played On 02/11/2014Regret Spending the Money to Play Here
If you are a fan of bare fairways, with lots of dirt and mud; little grass with tufts spaced every few inches; then this is the course for you. This course is in the worst condition of any course that I have played in Florida or anywhere else. The saying Caveat Emptor certainly applies. Also, you get what you pay for. Paid little, got little. I would rather spend more money and play few rounds than to spend less money to play this type of course. A few times a week doesn't accurately describe our golf schedule. We play 5 days a week, so we're not just weekend hackers. I appreciate a good course, but played this one based on reviews I read. Sorry that I can't agree with the other reviews.
Providence Golf Club
Played On 02/09/2014Much better shape now.
A couple of years ago I rated the course conditions as poor, but last year and this year, they had done a great job bringing the course around into better playing condition. The staff is always friendly, the pace of play is usually pretty good, and the course is fun to play. We play there several times a week now.

First, for the money, I didn't think that this course was in very good condition, certainly not on the front nine. Pasture golf, in my humble opinion. Expected a lot more in the way of conditioning for the money. Back nine was better than the front nine, but not alot.
Pace of play was terrible. To start with, our group was at the tee box ready to go 15 minutes before our tee time. The two groups booked in front of us were late and didn't arrive until just before our tee time. The starter held us and everyone else up while they unpacked their clubs and loosened up prior to going to the first tee. He could have put us and probably one other group off and let them get settled. We ended up going off almost 20 minutes late.
Next, it took just shy of 3 hours for the first 10 holes. 4 hours for 13 holes, at which time we picked up and went in because it was getting late. When we passed the group 2 spots in front of us, we noted that they were 3 holes behind the next group. Never did see a marshall on the course. Sad that a pressumed upscale course won't be visited again by some very avid golfers, but I'm sure that others will fall into the trap and be just as sorry.
Deer Island Country Club
Played On 2/20/2013Not worth the drive
DId not find this course worth the 1.25 hour drive from Kissimmee area. 2 hours 15 minutes to play the front nine and when we got to 10 tee box, we became the 5th group on that hole. One on the green, another in the fairway and 4 groups at the tee box. Picked up and went in for a beer. 40 minutes later, we saw the group we were with finishing the 10th green. The course is ok, but not great. Its maintained and the greens are nice. Lots of water though, beware.
Windermere Country Club
Played On 2/10/2013Okay
It was ok. Nothing great. crowded and seems to back up easily. Some strange holes like a 170 yd Par 3 that has two palm trees that you either have to hit over or around. They're right in the line of sight.
LPGA International - Jones Course
Played On 1/28/2013Great course
Being LPGA International, I expected it to be a good course. It was better than expected. Super friendly staff, great rolling fairways, and smooth rolling greens.
Cypress Course at Stonegate Golf Club
Played On 1/25/2013Excellent course
Narrow in spots, but fun course. Not too difficult for all levels.
Providence Golf Club
Played On 1/21/2013Fun layout
This is one of our favorite courses in the Orlando area. We play quite a few rounds here every year. This year, they seem to have had a problem witht the greens. The started told us that they cut the greens too short this past summer and all but lost them. They are recovering. They don't look good, but the roll pretty true. Slow though.
The Bridges Golf & Country Club
Played On 8/28/2012Great course
Excellent course. Great condition. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Great pace of play. Tough course if you don't know the layout. Greens are fast and have "moguls". The pro shop described them as "buried elephant" greens. Fun to play once you figure out the speed and where the valley vs. mountain is.
Can't wait to go back.
Haymaker
Played On 8/8/2012Overpriced
I play golf all around the country and for the life of me I can't understand all the hullabaloo about this course. Everyone says, oh you have to play it. I didn't think it was that great. Just under 3 hours for the front nine and no marshalls to be seen anywhere. Way overpriced, but its a captive audience. Not many courses in that area. I won't go back.
Good shape
Pretty good shape. Rolling fairways. Good greens. Needs better marshalling.
Kissimmee Bay Country Club
Played On 2/20/2012Crowded
Very crowded. I think overbooked. 2 hours for the first 6 holes. 2:40 for the front nine. 5 groups on the par 3 6th. Typical, lower priced courses are crowded. In decent shape, but not great.
