Great bang for your buck

Can’t beat a $35 walking rate for winter in AZ. Course was in solid condition outside of the rough which was dormant with lots of bare spots. Great soft sand in the bunkers and the greens rolled true. Fun 72 layout with 5 par 5s and 5 par 3s. Get to hit every club in the bag.

Summer conditions

You could definitely tell they were in a transition phase during the summer months. Lots of wet spots. Greens were good and the layout is a typical Sun City design. Couple of fun short par 4s for high risk/high reward. Front staff was very welcoming and let our 3some play alone. Complimentary balls also a nice touch. In the winter months, I’m confident this course would be a mid 4 star. Not a bad track for a $30 hot deal.

New Gem

A true Jack course. Amazing facilities and prime conditions. The greens are some of the toughest I have played on. Very quick and tough to hold a shot on. The course itself is a challenge with strategic shots needed throughout. Need to hit fairways and play the slope of the course for success. It’s a developing community and the course gives off a very peaceful setting up against the White Tank Mountains. Play this while you can before it goes private. A gem.

Good not Great

Course definitely gets a lot of play. Greens rolled and the fairways were in decent shape. Bunkers barely had any sand in them and were wet. Not a bad track for the money. Caters to all players and abilities. Back nine of the South got held up as there at 27 holes that overlap & groups cut in front of each other at the turn.

Enjoyable round

Well kept course. Nice fairways, greens, and bunkers. Fun track and forgiving off the tee. Complimentary range balls are a plus. Can’t beat these conditions for $56 on the weekend. This course would be $100+ in other parts of the valley this time of the year.

Truly Troon

Fantastic layout and scenery within the mountains. Fast greens and lush fairways and teeboxes.. Pace of play was great for a Holiday, only waited on 1 hole all day (par 3 7th). Only complaint was lack of sand in the traps. A typical Troon property that is 5 star.

Good bang for the buck

Solid course for the money ($50 peak season). Plays tougher than it looks. Greens are small and undulated. Parkland style layout that’s about 6300 from the tips.

Rough

This course has some of the worst conditions in the state. Fairways 2 inches deep, mud everywhere, greens with cart tracks and diseases. Overbooked and took nearly 4 hours for 13 holes. The layout is interesting but that’s about it. Could be a really good track if they’d put $ and some pride into it. Won’t be back

Getting there

Still waiting for this course to reach its peak after overseeing. Grass around the fringe was terrible (wet and muddy) and the greens were slow from what you’d expect at a Wigwam facility. Fairways and tee boxes were good. The layout is a nice change of pace from typical AZ desert landscapes. Lots of trees and water. Pace of play was solid at 3 hours 30 min for a 4-some on a Holiday. For $65+ I’d wait a few weeks till the course conditions are improved.
