Waverly Woods - More Like Wavy woods

This was a very unique course i was able to play a couple of weeks ago,
This course keeps it simple kinda like a steak,
They really focus on the grass quality and layout and less focused on bunkers or water hazards like allot of maryland course do,
This made the course a blast to play because the ground started to firm up which ment you couldnt play anything straight at the whole,
They really design this course to be tough by having down hill shots roll off in the back or just have a straight up blind approach shot to the green so you need to know what your doing,
Extremely hilly all around the course and specifically makes it tough around the greens on long approach shots and often time you want to aim for the hill infront behind or even to the side of the greens so they bounce off and roll down, i cant tell you how many shots i thought i left short or to the right that ended up in perfect posistion on the green,
Fairways were tame, Rough was cut low but on the right day might be a nightmare to get into and what is special is all the crazy long stuff that line the woods that can be seen in the one picture, which may be worse then having water because atleast with water you have a chance of the ball bouncing out, Greens just about perfect not too plain and not to shelfy and not impossibly fast and not slow just about right,
overall great course!!!

Course conditions lacking but a good course none the less

To start off i will cover the conditions,
the course was a bit more rough then it has been in the past,
could just be that it was a tame winter so there was more play and the grass hasnt started really growing yet so it is what it is,,
the greats we pretty clean every once and awhile there were little chunks of dirt on them,
Tee boxes were pretty beat up,
all in all the conditions were sub par compared to normal,
now to talk about the actual course,
This is a pretty good place to play in general price is a bit hit for the length and size in my opinion but in the past the high quality course conditions and central location made it worth playing,
This course does not have crazy cool views and plays through neighborhoods but what i will give it allot of credit for and is the main reason i would choose to play this course is 1. elevated tee shots 2. super challenging sand bunkers and allot of them,
when i play golf in Maryland i think of woods golf with lots of ups and downs and craved out little stream beds for which this course is.
playing a 100 yard par three tee shot from 100 feet up off the green makes for great challenge. if this is the type of golf you like Timbers could be right for you ,
now what makes this course unique in my mind is the sand bunkers,
in addition to having countless holes in which you have to approach the green by hitting downward or upward you have these massive white sand bunkers that are strategically located to be in your way,
having these bunkers takes this relativity small course and turns it into a heck of a challenge,
wont say this as a fact but i want to say the largest bunker to hit out of is 9 feet high,
this is not a beginners course at all good for walking,
Overall i would say it is a bit over priced but i will for sure play again just for the challenge

A Gem in Davidsonville MD

Super fun course to play for golf fans, playing holes that you’ve only been able to see on tv, this course is in great condition for the winter, carts are fast and have gps, and before this year this course basically had no homes on it which also was a big plus, now they have built mansions in the distance that take away just alittle,
Driving range is the worst part about this course don’t go for practice everything else is great

Is Lake Presidential the Best Course in MD

I have played plenty of nice courses in MD and this one is a stand out,
While i have not yet had the chance to play some of the other top 10 courses like Bulle Rock, Musket Ridge, Whiskey Creek and so on,
I have played enough to know this is a special place to be,
When it compares quality to other $80+ courses i have played in MD it is spot on with Lush Greens that roll true and fairways that are like hitting off of clouds and the rough is perfectly thick (i would hate to play out of it if they cut it long)
The course also has an awesome practice facility frame a real grass driving range not mats at all or the pitching green with a bunker to practice out of,
The club house is one of the nicest i have been to for a public course,
But none of that is what makes this course my favorite in all of MD at this time,
The true beauty of this course is in the layout,
Its hard to even know where to start with this,
Every hole in my opinion is a work of art and unique,
There are carries over water holes,
Tee boxes up high that have carries of gaps in the land,
Water that runs down the side of the full holes,
or a Land gapped island fairway,
i can go on and on about this course,
you will most likely use every club in your bag because of all the different types of shots you will need to use,

Here are two of the understated holes on this course,
These you should forget but because of the other amazing holes you just wont remember but are great non the less

Renditions? Yes please

Renditions is a very unique experience,
There aren’t many golf courses that I’ve played that make there holes based on famous holes around the country,
Actually playing the holes you see on tv is a pretty special thing,
Not only do the holes have the same general layout but renditions also cuts the grasses In way that you actually feel like your playing a different course from hole to hole,
In general the condition of this course has been good each time I’ve played here,
The gps in the carts is a very nice addition to your round also there is a button you can press on each hole that should you and overview of the hole plus gives a great story of how someone won a championship playing the hole,
This is a very fun place to play makes for a good day of golf

Hard to describe but a fun course

This is a weird one, as a professional golf course this isn’t great the time and money has not been put in here to make it a grade A course,
With that said to play this course just to relax and hang out it can be great,
First thing is there no tee times and if you pay for 18 you can play all day or go home and play later that day as much gold as you want which is awesome for a day out with the boys,
This course doesn’t seems to have been professionally built due to the uneven and lumpy tees boxes and the crazy humped greens narrow tee box’s and fairways,
All in all the price that you pay to play here is great $30 on a weekend to walk all day is perfect the greens were in really nice shape fairways were good enough and you just have to find good spots on tee box’s,
The greens are pretty small and seem to be impossible to lay up on because of the slopes and angles,
If you would like a day of golf where you play a shorter course that is very challenging this could be a good option,
If you would like a pga quality course like you see on tv you may want to try somewhere else,

Short but challenging

this course is a Short but challenging place to play,
While it does not have a same length or water hazards as other premier courses in the area it is built to challenge you,
Around most greens there are tons of softball white sand that will give you fits if you get in them, also the small greens on the course have almost no fair way to play up to the green in which make you have to land it right on,
Also there allot of up hill and down hill shots that make things a bit more challenging because of all the different slopes,
The grass care here was very good (maintenance wise) almost no yellow spots or patchy ness around the course which make you feel like the extra money you spent was worth it,
Finally my negative which might not be even really about the course which is that people did not do there part to keep things nice, I believe a tournament was played right before I arrived and not a hole lot of effort was made to fill in divots with seed and grass chunks,
Luckily I only had one ball get into someone else’s divot on the day so it wasn’t bad but this is the only reason I don’t rank this course even higher,
Overall I will defiantly be back the fun layout really makes this a course where you can play the same ball the whole day but don’t feel like every hole is the same

Hard to Describe

The layout on this course is great if you like a good challenge doesn’t have the distance of other courses but has tight fairways to make up for it,
Conditions are ok
Greens a pretty good this year,
Fairways are ok in places
Rough can very depending where you are from thick to non existent,
Sand traps are lower quality
Overall this is a fun course to play
And since Eisenhower is closed this year I will be here allot

You get what you pay for here

I've Been playing this course now for 3 years and during all that time it has never disappointed,
For $60 I think this course is worth every penny,
This most recent time playing here the greens were perfectly fast,
Fairways are filled in, but they could have used a cut,
And rough was just cut so it was perfect height,
Had a great time playing here and will definitely be back
