Colts Neck Golf Club
Played On 06/02/2022Repair your ball marks
People playing this course need to learn how to repair their ball marks on the greens...every green had dozens of them. Not the course's fault, but it was like putting through a minefield. Other than that, course was in very good condition, it will be even better when the two tee boxes under repair are back in use. Always enjoy playing Colts Neck, I'll be back.
Eagle Ridge Golf Club - Ridge Course
Played On 07/30/2018great condition
The course was in excellent condition but I think they need to advise golfers to replace their ball marks on the greens....I've never seen so many unrepaired ball marks before. But other than that greens were excellent. Pace of play was slow due to the two guys we were paired with. We held up the group behind us and had a hole open in front of us.....that drives me nuts. Nothing to do with the course, but included it anyway. Enjoyable, challenging day of golf.
Suneagles Golf Club
Played On 04/23/2017Rough rough
I'm a hacker and I know it. I generally shoot around 88 to 92, but after parring the first hole I proceeded to shoot a 99. On most holes the rough was extremely deep, so deep in fact that I lost 3 balls in it. All 3 should have been found easily.
Pace of play for such a beautiful Sunday afternoon was phenomenal until we caught up to the foursome ahead of us on the 13th. We were only a twosome and 3 of the 4 in the group ahead of us did not move well. I have no problem with that, my mom still golfs at 82 and I hope that I am still playing at that age, but they should have waved us up. There is no ranger out on the course to take care of this. That said, because we flew through the first 12 holes, we still finished up in a little over 4 hours. So I really can't complain.
The course was in decent shape with the exception of a couple of greens and a couple of tee boxes, but that is nitpicking. It's not a long course.....my only advice is to try to stay out of the rough.

Played On 04/17/2016Golf carts everywhere
We had a beautiful day for golf for our first time ever at Lakewood Golf Course. The course was in decent condition with the exception of the aerated greens, which you could tell were starting to come back into form. That said, between the three of us, we certainly had our share of putts that bumped, popped and jumped along the green missing the cup. Course plays a lot tighter than it looks. My biggest issue with this course is that because some of the holes are narrow, a lot of the weekend warriors slice and hook onto other holes. Did it myself a couple of times. No more evident than on the severe dogleg right, par 5, 16th hole. When I came up the hole next to it, I laughed when three guys on the 16th were in my fairway. Then when we played the 16th 2 of our guys were also in the wrong fairway. Pace of play was extremely slow, due to the fact that the course was very crowded and the foursome in front of us spent eons lining up putts. Way too much space between them and the group in front of them. It took us 5 hours to play. The place is, as I said, very tight, which makes the course look extremely busy.....with all the golf carts all over the place it felt like they were all buzzing around like bees. The staff was great, especially the starter and the cart guy, but I won't be returning. At least not on a weekend.
