Bland

First word that comes to mind is "bland." Alot of repetitive holes - hit it 260 straight away, then carry a waste area to the green. Very wide landing areas off the tee made for some overall uninteresting holes. Houses line the fairway but aren't really in play. Conditions were nice, staff was friendly and greens ran true. Overall, it's nowhere near the ~$150 price tag typically found online.

Excellent track

First time playing, came to Nashville with a group of 8 for a golf weekend and based on prior reviews, pegged it here. The course was wet after receiving several straight days of rain which resulted in cart path only - led to a pretty tough, tiring round but to no fault of the course. Excellent layout with par 5s with generous landing areas and true risk/reward 2nd shots. Reachable par 4s and the #1 and #2 handicap are truly difficult golf holes. Would absolutely recommend.

Flat out awesome

First time playing the course. 2 of us teed off at 7am on a holiday. We arrived right around our tee time and the pro shop attendant/starter asked us pretty politely to "get to the tee." I can respect that as there were a couple groups getting ready to go.

The course itself was in fantastic shape. From tee to green I'm not sure I've seen a course in better shape in NEO, inclusive of private clubs. The layout is tremendous and your line from the tee box is a challenge. #1 is a gettable par 5 and #9 is an absolute bear - makes for a very interesting 9 hole match. Similarly, the much tougher back 9 starts off with gettable par 5s on 10 and 18. Holes 13-16 are a real challenge, best to take your medicine and don't ruin your round. The greens were in great condition though of average speed (not bad, just not lightning). Got through the round in 4 hours, however it was just two of us and we were out early. Didn't see a beverage cart once...not sure if due to the holiday or not. If it weren't for the far east location, I'd spend WAY too much time and money here!

2nd Time Out

This was my second time out after a perfect experience this first time around. Our group came into the round very excited for what had been built up to be an amazing facility and course, which it is. The new facilities are amazing and the course is in perfect shape. My knock is on the service. The starter hurried us along and on the 3rd hole gave our group quite the earfull after falling, literally, 4 minutes behind pace. This was beyond your typical "pick it up fellas" type deal. Also, rarely saw the cart girl on the course. My previously pristine recommendation has been revised - its a great course, but sadly on 4 stars for me.

Tough, a little beat up

Have played this course numerous times, but this was the first time in years. It's not my favorite course, simply because at times it can be flat out unfair - grass cut too low in certain spots and you are penalized for hitting fairways. This time around the greens were pretty beat up and it looked like they aerated somewhat recently. Fairways were shredded, not sure what had happened - not just bare spots, but multiple GUR locations. Booked online and it was a decent deal at $19 for 9 holes. Palmer/Wheeling CC significantly nicer.

Mediocre - poor value

In a vacuum, a nice course but compared to the other numerous options throughout PHX, you can do far better. It was over $100 for 18 holes on a Monday morning (non-holiday). We had to ask twice for yardage books and finding sprinkler heads and markers in the fairway was a chore. Disappointing layout with houses lining practically every single fairway which takes away from the scenic, desert experience most are seeking. The greens were fairly quick, but bumpy from marks and previous holes. It seemed there were several types of grass grown in the fairway, first cut and rough so it was difficult to get a good feel for conditions. Mediocre course, but poor value. Would not recommend.

Poor value

Other commenters have nailed it so I won't go into much detail. The greens fees are outrageous for what you get. Decent enough course though the bunkers need alot of work. Somewhat uninspiring layout and not the most challenging. We booked a tee time without knowing a collegiate tournament was finishing up so that pushed us back significantly. Overall, slightly above average playing conditions but for the price, not worth it.

Unbelievable

I almost hesitate to review this course for fear of it becoming too popular/expensive. It's a fairly long drive from PHX, but worth every minute. The course is brand new so the Pro Shop is pretty sparse but the restaurant and views from the patio are tremendous. They were offering a Travis Matthew deal with a hat and WR shirt for $25 extra - well worth it. The course was immaculate, as described by the starter. The views are pretty ridiculous and at times you feel like you're in the desert mountains by yourself. My only complaint would be a lack of green diagrams - these greens are huge with significant undulation. If you miss on the wrong side of the green, you're staring a 3 putt in the face. Fantastic course, friendly staff and I'm not sure the value can be beat. Just hoping this doesn't go private any time soon...
