Douglaston Golf Club
Played On 01/25/2017Local course with lots of seniors
Course is Decent for a neighbor hood course. Some of the holes are blind. Lots of par 3's. It's a par 62. Lots of neighborhood seniors play here. So sometimes it's very slow.
Douglaston Golf Club
Played On 12/04/2016Not Bad
This is suppose to be a local course run by the city but has been leased out to private citizen to run. They charge a $4.00 fee on top of the greens fee. And you also pay for parking. It's a short par 67 course. Some blind holes. On nice days, the pace of play is very slow. I only play this course when I can pay less then $25. It's not worth paying full price.
Sprain Lake Golf Course
Played On 11/02/2016Great Local Course
First Time playing here on the recommendation of a friend who lives near by. The course has some nice layouts, but coming from Long Island it's not worth the drive for me to pay the non resident fee. The course needs some extra care. Some holes are very pretty. They made me put $1.00 for each cart key and was told that it would be refunded at the end of the round. The cart boy never said here's your refund. I had to remind him. If I was a local I would play here. But I have Bethpage as my local course(s) so I won't be going back unless they charge me $20. for the round.
Hudson Hills Golf Course
Played On 08/17/2016Nice Muni Course with Great Views
First time on this course and the views are just as nice as Centennial Golf Club without the fast greens. The tee boxes are a little beat up, and no one seems to fill in or replace their divots. But the views and layout made up for that. Their carts have a GPS on board so it made the blind holes not so blind. Stay on the fairways and you can get a decent score.
Wild Turkey Golf Club
Played On 06/12/2016Golf Board!!
I don't remember the course too much other than some holes were hard and some were easy. I was too busy having fun on the Golf Board! If you're able to you MUST pay the extra $ and go with the board. It's a single rider. And with the ups and downs cart paths of the course it's a thrill itself. Personally I think all golf carts should be single riders, it would speed up play even more.
LBI National Golf & Resort
Played On 04/20/2016Great Course
I usually Play this course on my way down to AC or on the way back home, and it never disappoints. Yesterday there were aeration holes, but it wasn't horrendous. Plus we almost had the place to ourselves so that compensated for the holes on the green. This course is very women friendly from the red tees and easy to score well if you play carefully.
Stonebridge Golf Links & Country Club
Played On 04/10/2016Short but challenging
If they kept the greens in better condition, I would play it once a week. The course itself is on the short side but each hole is challenging enough to keep things interesting.
Bayside Resort Golf Club
Played On 05/23/2015Make sure you stay on fairway.
As long as you hit them straight, you'll be fine, otherwise bring extra balls.
Cherry Creek Golf - The Links Course
Played On 09/14/2014Eh...
I play this course once a year, today I'm wondering why I drove an hour out, paid $67.00. waited for the 3 some in front of me very shot. ( I was in a 4 some including a junior beginner) when I could have played Bethpage. No one in the bag drop off, no starter, where the heck is everyone? The only people I saw today was the pro shop guy to take my money and the ranger because there are sure a lot of guys playing from the wrong tee. As a women golfer I think golf clubs should change the color of the forward tee from red to something more neutral so that beginners (men) don't feel so silly playing the forward tee. There should no be no shame in playing the forward tee, only shame when you double par every hole because you're playing the wrong tee.
Baywood Greens
Played On 09/01/2014WOW
This course is so beautiful and well groomed, the staff is extra nice. I felt like I was down in Orlando on one of the Disney courses, there are so many planted flowers in vivid colors. I only wish I lived closer so that I can play it at least twice a year.
At the 19th hole had lunch before a long drive back to NY. Had the most amazing Seafood Quiche.
The Links At Lighthouse Sound
Played On 08/31/2014Better the 2nd time around
This course was so much better when the weather is warmer. In 2013 I played this course in the 1st week of April and it was so cold, windy and miserable, I couldn't enjoy the course, this year at the end of August it was nice and warm, still windy on some holes ( it's right by the water) I couldn't believe how beautiful the course is. The view on some holes are almost like Atlantic City CC.
Ballamor Golf Club
Played On 04/20/2014Great Course
I wish this course was closer to me so that I can play it more often.
Seaview - The Bay Course
Played On 04/19/2014Poorly Designed
The holes are narrow to begin with and so close together that it makes it very dangerous to play when a bad player is nearby, or on the next hole. Someone in my group almost got hit in the face by a golf ball in his cart while driving away from the green, by a young guy who was hitting his approach shot that went a little to the right from behind a tree. Dangerous. And what was up with the hotel guests walking on the fairways as if it was a park??!! The restaurant was closed too.
Blue at Eisenhower Park Golf Course
Played On 04/11/2014Great Municipal Course
It's my local course that I play several times a year. For Nassau County Residents, others just pay more.
