White/Blue at Dandridge Golf & Country Club
Played On 08/04/2020Elevation changes abound!
The elevation changes of this course are imposing and impressive. The fairways are lush and the 1st cut of rough was forgiving. Were their any flat holes...I forgot, but Dandridge has a 2nd winner on its hand with DGCC. Greens on the track alot faster than the practice green. Pro - Well manicured course. Con - No driving range.
Will put this on my "Will Play Again" list.
Patriot Hills Golf Club
Played On 07/24/2020Best in Jefferson County
2nd time I've played here. Fairways were in excellent condition. 1st cut was just that! Greens were not too fast (due to humidity, then some rain) and rolled true. Will play here as often as I can.
Patriot Hills Golf Club
Played On 09/26/2019Great choice...great course
Played Patriot Hills for the first time in September 2019. By the time I got to the 11th fairway it began to rain. After 5-10 minutes the rain moved to the east and the course handled the runoff very well. Loved the layout and the elevation changes. From fairway to green the course was in magnificent shape. The bermuda 1st cut was llike nothing I had even seen. I usually like to play from the first cut, but not here! Two-inch thick bermuda is not a part of the game I can practice much in California. Staff were cordial and friendly. The only downside - I did not care for the gas-powered golf carts and breathing the exhaust fumes. Facilities were neat and clean. Will definitely be back since we are moving to Jefferson County next year.
Knollwood Golf Course
Played On 05/30/2017Challenging & peculiar
Played here for the first time with my son (his 40th birthday present), Driving range is two-tiered (mats only) and IRONS only. Ball machine on lower level hidden from view.
Most fairways were lush as was the 1st cut of rough. Lots of places to lose balls.
Tee boxes were lush and not divot-marked. There were a few where a level stance was almost impossible
Greens were fast and did not hold well (freshly sanded). Narrow fairways and narrow gaps to aim your tee shots. Many of greens were tapered on the skirt and the balls rolled right off the putting surface.
My son thinks that the track should be changed to make 10-18, 1-9 and vice versa. Hole #1 is the toughest hole on the course. Seems that #10 would be a better introduction to the course and the back a better way to start your round before facing a very tough front nine.
Good value on GN that included lunch (choice of deli sandwich, breakfast burrito or hot dog, non premium drink and chips.
Staff at the pro shop were okay, but seemed a little distracted. Starter was confused when we didn't show up with a cart key.
Pace of play was 5 hours. At times there were three foursome sitting at the same tee waiting. The threesome ahead of us had lunch at the turn, so we skipped passed them and finished about 15 minutes ahead of the pace of play.
North/East at Oaks North Golf Course
Played On 04/06/2016Pristine conditions - will replay soon!
First time playing here. Staff strongly recommended that I spend some time at the practice green to get a feel for the fast conditions present. Course was in excellent condition and designed for all skills levels. Greens were as advertised - very fast. 1st cut of rough was just right for my new graphite approach wedge. GolfNow price unbeatable, Will be back!

You really can't go wrong here. I was the first one on the course as a single (in a cart) so there was an excellent pace of play. Course was in best shape I have ever seen it, having played here four (4) times since November. I knew there would be a problem on the back nine since they were plugging the greens. (I skipped the 16th green because they were right in the middle of plugging it) The more immediate problem was over-watering. While the fairways and greens were nearly dry even at 6:00am, the cart paths were flooded in some places. On 17 I had to hit my tee shot while being sprayed by not one, not two, but three sprinklers. Pleasantly surprised that plugged greens were in such good shape. This course still reminds me of home (Kings Valley Golf Course, Crescent City, Ca.) Great value! Staff pleasant and they found my glasses I had left behind. This course is a regular stop for me even though I live 40 minutes away.
River View Golf Course
Played On 01/22/2015First Time River View
Course was in decent shape. There was water in the Santa Ana River, so lateral water was in play on many holes. Practice green represented the course well. Greens were moderately soft. Change in elevation very challenging, as are the several dog legs to elevation. Traps are filled with crushed gravel or rock. Pace of play as advertised. Will play here again. Plays tight to OB on several holes with narrow fairways most of the time. If you are RH and fade, look out.
Colina Park Golf Course
Played On 01/07/2015Best Chip & Putt...by far!
Played on a Wednesday morning. No crowds. Course was near perfectly groomed. Most greens were just watered and balls were sticking like glue! Greens true and quick, even with the water. Whole course being kept in tip top condition. And the Gold Now price blows away to competition.
Colton Golf Club
Played On 12/22/2014Short Game Honing
Great place to work on short game. Greens much more consistent after So California rain. Used my Garmin S3 watch. Very accurate yardage - GPS matched the course markers. This is a fun course with water on several holes, but generous fairways and challenging, large greens make you shoot straight to shoot low scores. Will be back on a regular basis.
Green Tree Golf Course
Played On 12/16/2014Average, but fun.
Shotgun start was different for me. Most fairways are wide. Greens were very fast, like putting on concrete. Bunker sand not very deep making recovery shots difficult.

Colton Golf Course reminded me of the coursed where I learned the game (Kings Valley Golf Course, near Crescent City, Ca.) Had fun on this executive Par 3 course. Greens were in great shape and although challenging, every hole pretty much played straight. The Santa Ana winds came up on the 16th hole, and the course difficulty increased dramatically. Had a great time and would drive from Victorville again to play here.
