About
I am retired and picked up golf after retiring almost 10 years ago. My routine score is 90 to 100. Most of the guys in our group score about the same. We play numerous courses around south Atlanta, and buy many of our tee times on golfnow.com. We attempt to play three times each week.

The Links at Southwind Country Club
Played On 07/03/2014Southwind Golf Course Revisited
Our golfing group is composed of retired men. We are not excellent golfers, but shoot in the range of 90 to 100. We have visited Southwind for a round of golf a few times a year since 2010. But, new management has made a big difference to Southwind. The burned clubhouse is reopened like new. The greens are the best ever. The fairways have been fertilized and are green and mowed. Ice cold water was in place.
We enjoyed playing this course very much today. The course is not crowded and is an outstanding value for Atlanta, especially for north Atlanta players who pay $50 for a round of golf. Enjoy this one for half that. Our group will visit this one again soon.
Durham Lakes Country Club
Played On 07/30/2013My group all thought this course was difficult.
A few of the greens were not great, but all in all this course is tough and a real fun challenge for good golfers.
Logo/Rock Garden at Orchard Hills Golf Course
Played On 2/8/2013For February greens, the best I have played.
Greens were wonderful. Fairways dried up winter bermuda, but very playable. Tees great. All in all, the best all around course I have played in the past few months.
Coweta Club at Arbor Springs Plantation
Played On 2/07/2013Very well maintained for winter golf.
Tees had grass. Fairways were bermuda. Greens were excellent for winter. The course was very challenging.
Morgan Dairy Golf Club
Played On 11/21/2012Fairways are mowed. Tees are green with grass. Greens are exceptional all year. Even in the winter, the greens are the best.
Our group plays Morgan's Dairy about 3 times a month. We find that the greens are very good all year. The fairways are wide which fits a novice golfer well. We see many retirees playing the course during the week,, but the weekends are filled with working guys who love this course. I do not belong to Canongate, but rate this course's greens with Canongate and better.
Griffin City Golf Course
Played On 01/16/2012This course has extemely nice greens year round. The winter rye grass adds additonal beauty during cold months to the fairways.
Recently, three of my family visited Georgia for Christmas (2012). One among them is a high 70's shooter. He shot a 93 on Griffin Golf Course. During the round, he praised the course and couldn't believe how nice the course was for the money. After the round, he commented that the course was tough due to the length on some of the holes.
This course always remains a value all year. The course is mowed, greens maintained better year round than Canongate. A real value.
