Great value for the money

I am visiting from out of town and found this course through golf now. When we arrived it wasn’t busy and we were greeted by the friendly guy in the pro shop. He gave us some tips about the course and we paid the modest greens fee. The course was in good shape and was a nice layout. Not super hard but some challenges, dog legs, water, etc. The only issue I had was they were spraying the greens all morning which slowed the greens on this already humid day and left green dye everywhere. Outside of that, great course for $37 on a weekday. I would definitely play there again!

Decent value

I’ve played here a few times and it was super busy today. The problem wasn’t how many golfers there were, it was the group in front of us. We thought because it was busy it was slow, but we realized after the turn there was no one ahead of the group in front of us. There was no ranger on what they told us was their busiest day of the year. The construction on 10 and 11 also makes it tough to play and slows down play after the turn. Hopefully when they complete that the pace of play will get better. Overall ok for the money, but probably better once construction is done.

Great price, still not worth it

We made a 7:30 tee time and when we showed up to the course at 7:00, there were about 6 cars parked in the street outside of a locked gate that led to the course. We parked, sat, and waited about 25 min until the pro shop employee showed up at 7:28.
Once he unlocked the gate, everyone went inside to pay at once and somehow we went from the first tee time to sitting behind 4 other groups on the first tee. He did not ask if we had a tee time or our names, just took our money and sent us to the first tee.
We figured while we waited the next 20-25 min to tee off we would go to the practice green. That was a mistake. It was covered in thick coarse sand and we were literally unable to putt on it.
After we waited to tee off, the first two greens and a couple others on the course has the same, thick coarse sand fully covering the greens. After we got to the third hole, the greens were in decent shape, minus a few of the back 9.
After we got going, we also realized the tee boxes, fairways, and rough were all the same type and cut of grass. It was like playing golf in my front yard for the entire course. No discernible difference in cut anywhere in the course.
Overall what we thought we were getting for $30 on a weekend was a great rate and had low expectations because of the good price. What we got was an experience that made the rate no where near worth it. I would not recommend this course to anyone. Pay the extra $15 and go to Larkin Golf Club down the road for much more value for your dollar.

Great course for the money

I’m from Pittsburgh and was here for the weekend. We played Larkin Golf Club for the first time and I was impressed. The minute we got out of the car, the cart staff had a cart waiting for us in the parking lot where he gave us some tips about the course. We were about 40 min early for our tee time do we hit some balls at the wedge rage (which were free) and pitted for a few min before we tees off. The course was in great shape and pace was awesome. No one behind us and no one in front of us for a hole or so. The course was in great shape and for the money was a fantastic bargain. We paid about $35 each for 18 and a cart, and the same experience back in Pittsburgh would cost me at least double. I would definitely recommend this course!
