Clover Valley Golf Club
Played On 07/15/2015Wet but still in good shape
The course was cart path only due to all the rain. Had to start on the back 9 for some reason. The guy in the pro shop was just a real peach. He must have been having a bad day. I was going to get some water before going out but the cigarette being smoked by the lady working the bar was more important. The pace of play was fine for the first nine but the second nine was horrible. Only one group let us play through. We skipped hole 10 because the group in front was taking forever and didn't seem to care. We got to another group of four and they had no desire to let is play through and had to realize how slow they were playing. Even though it was a Wednesday afternoon the course needed a ranger to tell groups to speed up or allow others to play through.
Oakhaven Golf Club
Played On 09/04/2014Front is wide open and back plays a little tougher
This course is close to my house. They will typically let you go out as soon as you get there, even if you have a tee time for a little later.

If this course was closer to me I would play it all the time. It is always in great shape and is really enjoyable to play.
The Links at Echo Springs
Played On 08/10/2014Horrible Pace of Play
I thought playing on a Sunday afternoon by myself that I would be able to get around fairy quickly. A group of 4 in front of me would not let me around. There are no rangers to help speed pace of play. The course itself was a haul to get to because it is off a few backroads. If the course is not going to employ someone to teach groups when to let people around then be prepared for a 6 hour day at Echo Springs.
Shamrock Golf Club
Played On 04/18/2014Ridiculously Slow
As usual, Shamrock took forever. We didn't even get to finish all 18 holes. We had to quit after 14 because we had already been on the course for well over 4 hours and we had other things to do. They continue to not allow groups to tee off the back 9 to alleviate the back-up on the front. Then they send out one ranger who was only concerned with not letting people drive their carts into the rough instead of addressing the real issue. Tell people to go to their own ball and be ready to hit when it is their turn. There is no point to having a ranger if he isn't going to speed up play. When you see people hitting 3 or 4 tee shots on every hole and then each guy walking to one another's ball, then tell them to speed up. It is always the same at Shamrock. Also, don't bother getting there early. You will tee off on or after your tee time. Even if there is an opening, they will not let you go ahead the way most other courses will. I would stay away from this course and spend my money elsewhere.
Ross - we're sorry to hear that you did not have a great experience at our golf club! We have looked into this situation and would like you to know that the issues with the staff should NOT be happening again. We are so sorry about that. We were cart path only due to excessive rain in the area and we had you start off the back 9 due to one of our scheduled leagues. We usually only have rangers out on Wednesday afternoons if we are extremely busy. We hope you give us another chance and come back out soon! Thank you for your feedback, we truly appreciate knowing what we can improve on!
