Oak Valley has large undulating greens that gave tour quality roll and were as fast I’ve ever played.
First time here. I’ve been playing on grainy Bermuda all summer. I am a 70 year old 8 index. We played from 6300 yards, 130 slope.
I shot 91 with 12, count ‘em, 12 3 putts. Hit the ball well but could not adjust to the green speed all day.
This was a windy day blowing 20 - 30 mph all day above the Bannon pass where the wind mills spin. Two club wind. Made the very interesting layout very challenging.
They had recently opened from over seeding but course was in very good shape. I’d play it again and try to get some satisfaction on those really quick greens.

Eagles Forrest has an excellent layout, very distinct holes no two alike. Water, woods, dog legs, bunkering, fast and true greens. It was a 20 mile drive for me in Tampa traffic, but I liked it so much I played there 4 times in February '14. And an excellent value for the greens fee. I played from the Blues at 6,159 yds. There are 5 tees from 4,762 - 6604. I strongly recommend.
