Nice track

A very nice layout. Was disappointed not to have refreshment cart thw entire back nine on Labor Day. With no on course water because of covid its important to offer playwrs fluid when its 90.degrees out there.

Lightning fast greens

A nice track that's in decent condition. Testy little layout and The traps need a lot of work (as do the cart paths).

Nice quick round

The weather was cooler than expected so the course was almost empty. Having never played here before I really wanted to get some settings in and check out the layout. Being mid-winter the fairways were brown but the greens and tee boxes were green and rolled true. It's not a luxury country club but it deserves to be on the rotation while in Myrtle Beach.

A nice, established course

By no means is this a resort course but it is a nice, very friendly course that is worth playing especially if you aren't super accurate with the driver. There's no rough to speak of, just brown centipede grass for rough and green fairway grass, perhaps zoisia. There was no height difference. The greens were 50/50 good and bad with some being pretty sparse as can happen in February. Water hazards are rarely in play with #18 being the only true carry that I recall.

Quite the test

I liked the course and saw it as a good value. Staff was very pleasant and the course is in good shape for late fall. Long hitters out there should put this on your list as they are adding a dozen new tee boxes to get it over 8,000 from the tips. Wow.

Shows promise

I played as a single when the course was basically empty. Apparently it was a private club not too long ago and you can see where it could be a 4 or 5 star course. Still a fair # of issues a month after Irma but I'd say its worth a visit if you are in the area.

A top course in Sarasota area

This is a must play course for anyone visiting the area. Billed as the last course that Arnold Palmer designed, its a super layout that will get better with time. Large, mounded greens are the design feature so its important to follow the GPS guide and hit to the proper quadrant of the green. The front nine features three par 3s, three par 4s, and three par 5s while the back is the more traditional two, five, two with a great par 5 finishing hole. Nice practice facility to warm-up on. Once the clubhouse is complete this will be an outstanding facility.

Another Lakewood gem

Do yourself a favor and play here. Despite having recently aerated their greens I was pleased to find them rolling fast and true. In a week or so they'll be even better. A fairly open course, you'll still need to bring your A game for carry and accuracy.

Disappointing

I realize that its just a week post-Irma but,,, it appeared that the Highland course is the step-child here. None of the traps had been maintained since the storm and the halfway house closed early (like 1pm) "because it was slow". The couple I was paired with stopped after 9 holes so I went out alone on the back. The GPS never moved to the 10th hole so I was playing blind and quickly caught up with the foursome ahead of me. I bailed after 13 holes. Too many options for my 2 month FL visit to play here again. Looked like it could be a nice track, but it wasn't on this day.

The carts did offer bluetooth speakers built in but when my playing partners actually used it I was shocked. Felt like I was in Caddy Shack with Rodney.

Very nice course and staff

Its hard to review the course objectively since the place had experienced so much rain recently. I've played plenty of "cart path only" rounds but my playing partner and I both felt the course should have been closed. Most every hole had standing water and fairways were like hitting off a sponge. That said, the staff was very friendly and, when not under water, I could see myself playing here repeatedly.

Still a nice tract for this time of year

Got a decent fall day and decided to get out. Although the tee boxes were less than acceptable, the balance of the course was quite playable. Maintenance was out blowing the fairways free of leaves which helped pace of play. All greens are open, a bit hairy, but open. Get out and enjoy it.

Long in the tooth but fast play and good value

Hadn't played here in perhaps 20 years so I booked a round for nostalgia purposes. All the trees and native growth plants are running rampant and could use some real pruning back. It seems that lightning strikes are the only form of maintenance done on the trees. The first few holes on the back were soaked and borderline unplayable. From the tips there are some TOUGH par 3s to play so it does challenge golfers. We played right after an outing finished so it was a nice 3 hour round! Wahoo!

Course in nice shape

Considering the lack of rain I was very pleased with the overall course conditions on July 11th. A very quick afternoon round (3.5 hours) was enjoyable for a twosome. What starts off fairly easy gets tougher on the back nine.

A nice challenging tract

I was looking for a faster than usual round on Mother's Day so I tried Forge Pond. After a week of rain the course was very green but also very wet in spots. For an executive course I found it to be a challenge. Very tight and some par threes are 200+ yards and treelined. The greens were smallish and undulating so it was a challenge on every shot. Enjoyable.

A nice alternative, aeration in progress

Decided to play at the last minute so I thought of LCC. Overall it was an enjoyable experience despite some minor hiccups. Pulled up and noticed them promoting grass area on the driving range as available. What they failed to say when I bought a bucket was that there was a $2 surcharge for grass versus mats. That's a first for me and totally their call. It was slightly embarrassing to be told to get out as I looked to start hitting tho. The course was in good shape although the greens were recently aerated and quite sandy. But that's necessary at some point.

A fair course

While a short course,as expected, I was a bit disappointed with the overall layout. It went from easy to difficult quickly and then back. Tough to get a rhythm going. Course conditions are on the mend considering the weather NC has had. Staff seemed a bit grumpy to me but not unreasonable.

A nice gem hidden in central NJ

This is a very nice track that almost nobody knows of. While its not a super challenging course they do offer five or six holes with black tees so that it stretches the course out nicely.

The toughest part about this course may be gaining access as most roads leading in require resident cards. Make sure when using a GPS to find the Prospect Plains Rd entrance.
