Colton Golf Club

It's hot and occasionally windy. It's Colton! But golf here is always fun. Rather simple course is great for a new golfer. I get a chance to break out the driver but the focus is on the short irons. I would like to say the putter is critical, but it's not. The greens are a bit slow, but usually flat without much challenge. Again as a new golfer, I'm okay with a chance to save a bad approach with a couple putts.
The downside. The pro shop is small and the bar is smaller. It's not a clubhouse, it's a bar. Don't show up hungry.
But the people here are great. Not overly friendly to the point they seem fake. But friendly and responsive to a normal golfers needs.

I lucked out and was able to book for $17. This course is easily worth more.
The greens, fairways and tee boxes were fantastic. The course was definitely challenging for my level, but not discouraging. The greens were consistent and readable. The fairways were wide enough (for most golfers, not ne) and easy to set up and get a clean strike. The tee boxes were level and allowed an accurate read of the hole.
My only down grade was the pro shop. The gentleman working came off less than inviting, even after being told it was my first time at his course. No quick run down of where the first tee is located, what was available at the cafe, or what the pace of play should be. I was about an hour early and had to ask about the driving range and putting greens. Minor complaints and really only applicable to a first time player.
Overall. I had a great time playing very poorly on a very good course. I think anyone would enjoy this course.
