1st green looked like a sand trap and I hoped it was an anomaly. Nope. Every green on the course was in very bad shape. There were also water hazards where there normally aren't and it hadn't rained in days. Definitely won't be back for a long while.

Course was dry and The 1st 3 fairways weren't underwater, that was a plus. The greens, however, we're very sandy as it looks like they were recently punched. Course also kept their water coolers filled and the water actually tasted good...another plus. Overall had a good time and will continue to come back. :My 3-star rating isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I played the course 2 days after some decent rain fell in the area and I was surprised how much water was still on the course. It was CPO and most fairways we're indeed, still soggy with many having big puddles of water. The areas off some of the fairways looked like swamps.

The greens are also in rough shape with most having some level of dirt patches on them.

Every fairway on the front 9 that is along the water is unplayable because they are 75% mud. I didn't get a chance to play the back 9 as it was closed for repairs. I do have to say all the greens were in good shape and were pretty quick.

Overall, worth the Hot Deal price I paid.

4 of the 18 greens are in really good shape. The other 14 have various levels of dead spots on them. Most of them have dead spots on the fringe and don't really impact putts. About 5 or 6 greens have dead spots all over them and make them basically unplayable.

Pace of Play is always an issue here. To many bad golfers playing from the wrong tees is just the beginning. Like Manolo says, "suck faster! " and everyone will be happier.

Besides the pace, the greens are in rough shape. Very bumpy and impossible to keep the ball on line.

Greens were recently punched but that is the least of the problems you'll encounter. The greens are currently trash on all but 2 or 3 greens. Most are growing some type of fungus that is eating up the grass.

Was visiting Ausrin and took advantage of booking a tee time at Falconhead. The course looked great from tee to green. My only complaints are the speed of the greens was slow and the mats at the practice range are way to close. The kid to my right hitting driver had a wide swing and nearly hit me on both his backswing and follow through.

How can you all charge the rates you do when you golf course is the worst conditioned track in the area? GN needs to put a warning on the app about the condition of the greens. They are unplayable!

This was the 6th time I've played this course over the past 1.5 years and although the course was in good shape, it wasn't as good as it normally is. The one detail that surprised me was the greens. They have always been immaculate and always gave me the impression that it wasn't really grass because they were always pristine. This time however they were slightly bumpy and had some other grass/weeds growing in them.

If you do play this course, please do your part and fix your pitch marks!

The marshal is also an old, angry little guy.

No other course that I know of has had as much trouble keeping their greens playable as Battlegeound has over the past couple of years. Bunkers were also in poor shape. Defininitely not worth what they charge!

The only reason I gave this course 4 stars is due to the layout. It's pretty featureless and the layout is boring. I say that because I prefer playing where there is at least some elevation change. However, the one thing that stands out about Bay Forest is their greens. They are in fantastic shape! And for that reason alone, I will be back!

It had been just under a year that I last played this course and I was looking forward to my round. Tee to green, the course is great. Fairways are nice and wide and the layout is terrific. But once you get to the greens, it goes downhill. All the greens on the front nine were in terrible shape. Very little grass. Mostly dirt. When I went to repair my chip mark, the dirt just crumbled away! The back nine had 3 greens that looked very good. The rest were like the front 9. If they get the greens in decent shape this would be an easy 4 star course.

BG is in terrible condition. The greens are getting as bad as they were the year they had to tear them all up and rebuild them. Tee boxes are also beat up and can't play out of most bunkers.
On the positive side, the fairways are in good shape and the layout is interesting. I really hope they get the greens figured out one day!

This was the 2nd time I played this course and overall I enjoyed my round. The greens we in good shape despite and not mushy despite the huge amount of recent rain. The fairways were fine and tee boxes and bunkers looked good. The only part of the course that looked liked it needed some attention was the rough. It looked as if it hasn't been cut in weeks....makes sense because of the rain.

The layout is ok but this course doesn't have any holes that stick out as memorable.

It's a long drive from houston so probably wont be going back anytime soon

I dont understand why this course stays so crowded, even with the $20 something tee times. This course by far has the worst greens in houston. They were unplayable. Every green was in terrible shape. Mostly dirt and weeds. Several fairways also had mounds of dirt piled up in weird spots. Save your money and play elsewhere until they figure out the greens!

I last played Southwyck about 6 months ago and it was in despair. All parts of the course were in poor condition. I saw a Hot Deal for Southwyck and read the reviews. To my surprise, all of the reviews that had been written over the past couple of weeks said the course was looking good. With that, I decided to try it out. I'm glad I did. The course is in very good shape. The greens are fantastic which really surprised me due to how bad they were just a few months ago. My only complaints were the bunkers. Most of them were unplayable. Overall, I was happy and will be back!

Battleground is the closest course to my house and I use to play it at least once a month. About 6 months ago I said I wouldn't go back until they fixed the greens. At that point all 18 greens were garbage. Mostly sand with patches of weeds and grass. About a week ago, I read that the greens were looking better, so I gave it a chance. I was surprised to see they the course was looking better. The back 9 were in decent shape. If there were patchy spots, they were in the fringe and didn't effect play. The front 9 however, are still in rough shape. Most had patches of dirt in the middle of the greens which absolutely effected play. 3 greens on the front 9 are so bad that they have temporary greens cut into the fairway.
Overall, the course is making progress but they still have a lot of work to do on the front 9.
